Objectives:
- Operating the Antioxidant (AO) manufacturing plant and ensure compliance to all production, Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) and quality standards
- Basic experience in Panel Distributed Control System (DCS) and field operations for all the production lines to progressively attain full familiarity with both panel DCS and field production operations
Responsibilities:
- Operates the production units in accordance with local and company’s EHS rules and regulations, Standard Operations Procedures (SOPs) and as instructed by the Production Engineer
- Good knowledge of process flow of all production units including tank-farm, utility to fulfils the tasks as follows:
- Familiarity with Emergency procedures for the safe operation and shutdown of units through DCS.
- Perform field operator routines such as raw material and catalyst filling, SAMACO rounds, preparation of equipment for Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO), 5S rounds, filter change outs etc.
- Ensure the correct usage and maintenance of PPEs for all the associated field tasks.
- Learn and Operate Delta V to control process units under close supervision of Senior/Lead Technician.
- Understand the EHS risk associated with their tasks by reading the respective EHS risk assessment.
- Coordinate and work with the team members and contractors to complete plant tasks in a safe and timely manner.
- In case of emergency, performs the activities of a firefighting brigade member after shutting down the plant safely as per the emergency shutdown procedure.
- Perform in-process sampling and testing.
- Perform simple maintenance jobs, opening and boxing up of equipment, handles tools in accordance with safety requirement.
- Troubleshoot where required; initiate corrective measures in accordance with his supervisors and maintains proper documentation trail; update process log-book and hand over documents.
- Participate in plant safety activities and housekeeping and safety programs
- Report all accident, injury, near miss, unsafe conditions and behavior to immediate Supervisor so that remedial actions can be taken to eliminate risk. Ensure full compliance to plant EHS programs such as Behavior Based Safety (BBS) / Hazard Elimination and Control Card (HEC)
Requirements:
- Diploma in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry or other related engineering qualification (e.g. Nitec)
- Minimum 3 years of working experience within Chemical Plant
- Able to work 24/7 shift schedule
- Basic understanding of chemical processes
- Able to use Microsoft Office. Experience in SAP PM module will be an added advantage.
