Technical Superintendent

  • Ensuring Safety of the vessel and her crew always as a top priority.
  • Supervision of the technical operation of the Offshore or Conventional Fleet as established by the Technical Manager.
  • Monitoring technical costs of managed vessels and ensuring follow-up of cost control with vessel Captains and Chief Engineers.
  • Monitoring of vessel visitations to ensure that vessels are inspected regularly.
  • Ensuring that internal and external audit observations are agreed to and closed out within the agreed schedule.
  • Developing programmes for continuous improvement and to ensure that Technical Management staff and the Vessel Engineers are kept aware of new or changing regulations and industry initiatives.
  • Project Management, Plan, manage, monitor, and execute vessels repairs, dry docking, and conversions within agreed budgets.
  • PIC for any client’s survey and coordinate with relevant departments to close out the findings in the punch list before mobilization.
  • Responsible for preparing project execution plan, planning and schedules, project operations, reviewing and providing engineering and operational support during offshore operations.
  • Work in partnership with HSE and Marine colleagues towards OVMSA / TMSA compliance, Company Policies as well as related campaigns and initiatives.
  • Prudent liaison with crewing partners and oversee crew selection, retention, and their performance.
  • Manage vessel’s Class and certification requirements, inclusive of the renewal of certificates & support for vessel’s Flag and Class requirements. Ensure all certificates on board are valid and arrange for renewal when necessary.
  • Ensure reporting monthly to clients on plan ahead for each vessel as well as review of monthly costs, monthly reports, PMS data etc. being communicated from the vessels, accordingly, prepare reports for the MD for his review.
  • Approving orders, invoices, and payments up to limit of authorisation.
  • Responsible for implementing and maintaining a safe, cost efficient and environmentally sound operation standard in compliance with the Company’s Quality Management System as well as the International Marine regulations and the vessels’ classification.
  • Work with all teams for tender bids, submissions etc. as well as operating cost forecast.
  • Assisting in any emergency response as required.
  • Assisting with Incident accident investigations, High Potential Near Misses and Technical incidents.
  • To maintain a high-quality technical and marine operation consistent with the Industry standards and guidelines.
  • Additional works and tasks as advised by the MD.


Requirements and Exeperience (Essential skills, qualifications, and experience):

  • Previous experience in an offshore and marine operations related company is a must, preferably within a Ship Management organization.
  • Prior experience either as Technical Superintendent for a minimum of 3 to 5 years managing offshore oil and gas assets such as Subsea, Offshore Construction, and OSVs.
  • Having sailed as a Marine Engineering officer on offshore or conventional vessels will be an added advantage.
  • Recognised marine qualification/experience either at sea or university or shore-based experience would be essential.
  • Ability to communicate efficiently and effectively.
