Job Summary
The Head of Finance is responsible for overseeing all financial operations and providing strategic financial guidance to the organization. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the financial health, stability, and growth of the company. The Head of Finance leads a team of finance professionals and collaborates closely with senior management to make informed decisions and drive financial success.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Strategy and Planning:
- Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with the organization's goals and objectives.
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making.
- Prepare and present financial reports, budgets, and forecasts to senior management andstakeholders.
- Capital Management: Optimize the company's capital structure and manage cash flow to supportgrowth initiatives while maintaining financial stability.
Financial Operations Management:
- Manage and oversee all financial operations, including accounting, budgeting, financial reporting, and treasury.
- Ensure compliance with accounting principles, legal regulations, and company policies.
- Monitor cash flow, manage financial risks, and optimize working capital.
- Implement and maintain effective internal controls and financial systems.
Financial Analysis and Reporting:
- Conduct financial analysis to evaluate performance, identify areas for improvement, and support business growth.
- Provide insights on financial trends, variances, and key performance indicators (KPIs) to support decision-making.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare accurate and timely financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements, and financial projections. Present financial performance to the executive team and board of directors.
- Liaise with auditors and oversee audit process of annual financial statements.
Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Lead the annual budgeting process and collaborate with department heads to develop accurate and achievable budgets.
- Monitor and track budget performance, analyze variances, and provide recommendations for cost optimization.
- Develop financial forecasts and scenario analysis to support strategic planning and resource allocation.
Others:
- Experience in fund raising due diligence.
- Experience with external stakeholders and partners.
- Experience in commercial partnership.
- Tax and Compliance: Ensure compliance with all tax laws and regulations. Coordinate with external auditors, legal advisors, and tax authorities as needed.
- Treasury Management: Manage relationships with banks, financial institutions, and other stakeholders. Optimize investment strategies and oversee cash management
Team Leadership and Development:
- Lead and develop a high-performing finance team, providing guidance, mentorship, and professional development opportunities.
- Foster a collaborative and positive work environment, promoting teamwork, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement.
- Ensure adequate staffing, resource allocation, and performance management within the finance department.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field. A Master's degree or professional certification (e.g., CPA, CFA) is preferred.
- Candidate with IT or e-commerce background and fund raising experience preferred.
- Proven track record as a senior finance executive in a similar role within Technology, Media or Telecommunications
- Strong knowledge of financial management principles, accounting standards, and financial analysis techniques.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights.
- Proficient in financial planning and budgeting software, as well as advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Demonstrated experience in leading and developing a finance team.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively convey financialinformation to both finance and non-finance stakeholders.
- Strong business acumen and the ability to align financial strategies with overall organizational goals.
