Lead Teacher

Cambridge Cdc @ Dairy Farm Pte. Ltd.

The Lead Teacher fosters professionalism, oversees the curriculum, teaching and learning practices at the centre. Builds and leads teachers towards partnerships with all stakeholders, oversees the development of professional competence in the centre. Drives the teaching and learning practices at the centre and addresses all areas of development and meets the individual needs of each child.


Duties & Responsibilities

  • Align curriculum, teaching and learning approaches with the centre’s mission and vision.
  • Build a culture of constant learning, professionalism and collaboration.
  • Develop expertise of self and the centre staff.
  • Drive the design and implementation of teaching and learning.
  • Plan and execute children's curriculum based on child development knowledge, design the learning environment, and implement and supervise developmentally appropriate learning activities.
  • Examine the effectiveness of teaching and learning.
  • Assess each child’s learning needs through observation, ongoing assessment and the development of individual learning plans.
  • Model appropriate and respectful behavior to the children and fellow staff.
  • Inspire a love for learning through leading the design of curricula and programmes.
  • Lead in creating plans to set up partnerships with families.
  • Lead workplace communication and engagement.
  • Mentor staff to enhance care, trust and respect with children.
  • Pass on the core values of early childhood education through curricula and programmes.
  • Support a safe and healthy environment within the centre.
  • Solve problems and make decisions at a supervisory level.
  • Use emotional competence to manage self and team at the workplace.
  • Work with the Centre Leader to build quality learning environments.

Experience, Qualifications and Training Requirements

  • At least 5 GCE “O’ level credits including EL or MT
  • Diploma or Degree in Pre-school Education - Teaching (DPE-T) / Diploma in Early Childhood Care and Education (DECCE-T), or its equivalent recognised by ECDA
  • Registered with ECDA and attained a L2 certification

Knowledge and Skills Required

  • Demonstrate good active communicative skills
  • Demonstrate effective leadership and supervisory skills
  • Adequate knowledge of current early childhood care and education development theories, research and practices
  • Ability to work well with children and families
  • Is familiar of government regulations, quality assurance framework (Child Care Act and Regulation, SPARK etc
