Department overview:

International Wealth Management (“IWM”) is the business entity of Nomura Group that is focused on private banking business. IWM Risk Management seeks to effectively engage with all key stakeholders in the risk management process which includes Credit Risk, Portfolio Risk, Operational Risk, Risk Methodology and New Business covering the International Wealth Management Business.

Reporting to Credit Officer Level 2, with responsibilities for conducting credit underwriting of credit facilities, credit monitoring (shortfalls, limit excesses and credit conditions) and providing risk support to IWM.

Responsibilities

  • Underwrite new and renewal of credit applications. Complex single stock financing, HK, SG and UK RE financing. Approve proposals for both new and annual renewals of credit facilities (credit authority up to $100mil).
  • Approve withdrawal of assets and loan drawdown.
  • Credit monitoring (collateral shortfall, limit excess, FX Margin monitoring or any credit violations).
  • Supporting new and changes in credit policies and procedure, liasing with Global Team and implanting for IWM.
  • Provide risk advices to business & product team on policies and procedure.
  • Maintain Database for all borrowing Clients - FX margin trading clients and clients of security borrowing and lending (database to include updates of Credit Decision log, New application and Annual Reviews).
  • UAT testing for projects in the pipeline and any other adhoc.
  • Work closely with IWM Products Team on new products launches.
  • Work closely with IWM market risk analysts as a team.
  • Liaise with various stakeholders (including internal/ external auditors/ regulators).

Requirements

  • Minimum Degree from an accredited University
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in credit risk/analysis within an investment bank or private banking
  • Experience in Real Estate financing, Founder Shares financing and Universal Life Policy
  • Must be proficient technically, analytically, and familiar with financial products and knowledge of general banking industry practices
  • Experience and working knowledge of Bloomberg, Avaloq, Tableau and Power BI
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships and collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels
