We are looking for an experienced and proactive Global Customer Engagement Assistant Manager for one of our leading ship owner clients. Reporting to the Head of Global Customer Engagement, he/she will be responsible for management of customers’ business requirements to strengthen partnerships and grow business opportunities. The ideal candidate should possess a minimum of 3 years' experience in the containerized shipping industry, along with excellent persuasion and negotiation skills.
Responsibilities:
Customer
- Assistant Account Manager for 2-3 corporate customers ensuring growth in support from our key customers.
- Account maintenance, including updating tariff teams on BAF, OOG/DG quotations checklist and service level agreements.
- Strategize with the account manager on tender preparation: Sharing the customer intel internally & working with the reporting manager in giving strategic advice to LM’s in achieving tender objectives.
- Account performance monitoring ensuring that (i) is loading as forecasted (ii) space is allocated accordingly (iii) no service failures.
- Business development to ensure that the GCE account team is the first point of contact for new requirements or areas of development. The customer contact point, managerial and team lead levels.
- Engage frequently with the customer equipment teams for ad-hoc repo requirements and secure support.
- Slot purchase, buy from customers and ensuring that the best rate is secured setting the base for potential swop opportunities.
- Assist in maintaining customer intel such as org charts, volumes outsourced and general market information.
Processes & System
- Ensuring that commercial processes are reviewed regularly and updated.
- Best practices of contract administration are shared amongst regional hubs.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in any field.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in containerized shipping industry.
- Experience in key account servicing/marketing
- Skilled in persuasion, negotiation, and the ability to manage and develop relationships independently.
- Able to multitask, prioritize and manage time efficiently.
- A team player, strategic thinker and have an inquisitive mindset.
