Senior Finance & Accounts Manager

Sunrise is a leading sports goods company in Asia, involved in the wholesale and distribution of branded sports equipment, accessories, footwear & apparel across the region headquartered in Singapore, the company has offices in several countries in Asia.

We are looking for a dynamic individual to join our team as Senior Finance & Accounts Manager in Singapore.

1. ROLE OBJECTIVE

Provide advice and counsel to management regarding taxation, treasury, cash management, borrowings and other risk factors to achieve desired business results. Also to mobilize resources and ensure efficient cash flow management to support various future projects.

2. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Financial Perspective

• Align functional strategies with organizational objectives by analyzing and reviewing business performance and recommending corrective action
• Overseeing and spearheading of the function of preparing and coordinating with financial institutions regarding funds and finances. Ensuring that funds are made available timely and at the most cost effective interest rates
• Work closely with the project finance & accounting and assist in developing the accounting procedures, systems and norms at the project sites and to ensure consolidation of accounts from sites on a monthly basis
• Ensure long term resource mobilization and financial health of the Projects / Investments

Customer Perspective

• Oversee and guide relationship building with Banks and Financial Institutions
• Ensuring timely payments and collections from customers

Internal Process Perspective

• Create a culture of financial discipline by ensuring the implementation of management and financial management systems and processes across the organization
• Responsible for development, implementation and maintenance of all aspects of the corporate treasury function
• Handling complete closure of monthly & yearly books of Accounts including provisioning. (I.e. Profit & Loss Accounts, Balance sheet & others), Monitoring & scrutiny of all expenses ledgers on monthly basis
• Analysis and reporting of corporate treasury function, including investment performance and cash management. Development and maintenance of complex financial models in support of cash management activities
• Recommend process changes and introduce Management Information Systems enabling effective decision making
• Establish effective financial controls by ensuring financial integrity and good accounting systems
• Establish effective and robust financial accounting and cost accounting systems so as to provide timely, accurate and consistent inputs for management reporting and allowing detailed analysis of performance in financial terms
• Establish strong financial budgeting and monitoring system
• Ensure implementation of common accounting systems in line with the Accounting Standards across the locations of the Organization
• Scan the environment and work towards keeping the organization ready in advance to face the new challenges in the area of financial, accounting, taxation or disclosure requirements being brought by ICAI, Govt. or regulatory bodies for protecting stake- holder’s interest
• Periodically benchmark the accounts and tax function with the similar functions in the other reputed organizations to understand new reporting systems that can be adopted.
• Effectively contribute to tax planning at corporate level and also assist in tax planning of direct and indirect taxation in commercial decisions
• Ensure statutory compliance of the domestic corporate laws

• Conduct monthly Finance Review Meetings to monitor on a timely basis achievement of action plans, identify and highlight deviations, document corrective action and report performance of the same
• Actively take responsibility to develop the team and motivate them to achieve stretch performance targets

5. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education - CA, CPA

Experience - 10 to 15 years of relevant experience
