Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide direction sourcing strategy, procurement operations, and purchase of raw materials, supplies and equipment.
- Plan and direct all material management policies, objectives, and initiatives.
- Direct distribution channels and ensures material needs are met throughout the product creation process.
- Manage the day-to-day operations of Materials Management Department (MMD) to promote efficiency and effective operation.
- Identify opportunity to streamline procurement processes and improvements.
- Generate and analyse procurement performance and spending.
- Participate in the evaluation of bids and conduct negotiations to ensure value for money.
- Verify that bids are evaluated fairly, prepare recommendation reports for approval and award the bids in consultation with users.
- Manage the material needed and conduct wall-to-wall inventory stock take of items stored in the warehouse for stocks only.
- Handle the appointments of vendors and conduct a yearly evaluation of the performance of appointed suppliers and the products supplied. Feedback received prior to the yearly evaluation would have to be looked into promptly.
- Source and purchase non-medical equipment and products from external suppliers at the best possible price and best possible terms.
- Order medical equipment and related medical products and coordinate the delivery of the products.
- Evaluate the need to source for new suppliers when existing suppliers increase the price.
- Handles external auditor for processes relating to Material Management.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Degree in Supply Chain / Logistics / Business Management or equivalent.
- At least 3 years of relevant procurement and team management experience.
- Good interpersonal, communication and people management skills.
- Results oriented, resourceful, strong attention to detail and time management skill.
- Demonstrates commitment to teamwork with good analytical and project management skill.
- Possess healthcare experience will be an advantage.
