Our client is a leading regional bank looking to expand the team of Database Administrators to support their greenfield projects.
Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, and maintain Oracle and SQL database systems in both development and production environments.
- Design and implement database structures, tables, indexes, and views to support application requirements.
- Perform regular database patching and ensure that database systems are up-to-date with the latest security patches and bug fixes.
- Monitor database systems to ensure availability, reliability, and data integrity.
- Troubleshoot database issues, analyze and resolve problems, and implement corrective actions.
- Develop and implement backup and recovery strategies to ensure data protection and disaster recovery.
- Collaborate with development teams to optimize database schema, queries, and stored procedures.
- Work closely with infrastructure teams to ensure database systems are properly supported and integrated into the overall infrastructure.
- Implement and enforce security policies and procedures to safeguard database systems and data.
- Perform database capacity planning and recommend hardware/software upgrades or enhancements.
- Document database configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Proven experience as a Database Administrator with expertise in Oracle and SQL.
- Strong knowledge of Oracle Database Administration (12c and above) and SQL Server.
- Proficient in database design, installation, configuration, and performance tuning.
- Experience with database backup and recovery strategies.
- Familiarity with database security and access control.
- Solid understanding of database monitoring and troubleshooting techniques.
- Knowledge of database replication, high availability, and disaster recovery.
- Experience with scripting languages (e.g., SQL, PL/SQL, PowerShell) for automation and data manipulation.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., Oracle Certified Professional) are a plus.
