Assistant Finance Manager

Primary Responsibilities (regular frequency):

  • Reporting to the Finance Manager, the responsibilities include preparation of month-end schedules (Accounts payable, Accounts receivable, Fixed Assets, Inter-company reconciliations, bank reconciliations, etc.)
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly management reports and other financial reports required by Management
  • Responsible for the processing of staff claims and vendor payments in an accurate and timely manner
  • Liaise with various stakeholders on operational accounting issues, financial accounts, regulatory filings and other matters where necessary
  • Liaise with auditors on annual audit of financial statements of assigned companies
  • Liaise with banks on facilities and other banking matters
  • Assist in the design and execution of Standard Operating Procedures (“SOPs”) to enhance the efficiency of finance processes
  • Assist with Finance Operations matters (check accuracy of sales transactions and perform transaction reconciliation, verify accuracy of sales commissions, transaction clawbacks, etc.)
  • Handle other ad-hoc operational and finance tasks that may be assigned

Secondary Responsibilities (irregular frequency) include assisting the Head of Finance on financial matters for the GB Group (including its subsidiaries). Tasks include but are not limited to:

  • Assist in co-ordination with external auditor, corporate secretary, landlords, lawyers, tax agent and other consultants as and when necessary.
  • Establish, review and improve accounting policies and procedures to enhance internal controls.
  • Assist in Finance Transformation tasks such as system implementation, process improvements and tasks re-allocation.
  • Undertake ad-hoc projects and corporate actions as and when necessary

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimally 2 to 3 years' of experience in Accounting
  • Possess a relevant Accounting diploma or degree
  • Pro-active, committed and motivated individual who is meticulous, have an eye for detail, and enjoy working in a fast-paced dynamic environment
  • Good communication, analytical and interpersonal skills
  • Working experience with accounting software systems is preferred
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
  • Pleasant and courteous attitude, with strong communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment (start-up experience is a plus)
  • Ability to work independently
