As a ‘Decarbonization Consultant’ you will be part of a team of consultants focused on supporting our customers with various challenges they encounter in the energy transition. The team delivers a broad suite of services to support decarbonization – GHG assessments and LCA studies, analysis of relevant standards and regulations and the applicability to customer conceptual developments and operations, studies identifying abatement opportunities, setting up decarbonization strategies and roadmaps, and monitoring and analysing the impact of said strategies.
The team is part of a global DNV network of specialists in decarbonization and energy transition strategies for industry, transport and power generation. It is an exciting time to join – the demand for our decarbonization services is growing rapidly as countries in the Asia-Pacific region look to deliver their climate commitments, and you will become part of a team of some of the world’s leading experts in this field.
Within the decarbonization segment we are growing, and are looking for candidates with the expertise and ambition to contribute to a multi-disciplinary team working on a broad range of decarbonization-related projects. These projects may include work scopes such as:
- Develop greenhouse gas inventories (scope 1, scope 2 and scope 3) for customers
- Calculating LCA or PCF impacts for customer projects and products, including linking to (inter)national standards and regulations
- Technical advisory work relating to the identification, quantification and prioritization of abatement opportunities for customers in different sectors
- Techno-economic decarbonization strategy development
- Developing models ranging from high level to detailed, to quantify the impact of concepts and decisions on the baseline carbon emissions of our customers
- Advisory work relating to the implications of (inter)national standards and regulations on new concept development related to decarbonization operations, products and value chains
- Energy efficiency studies and implementation of energy management systems as a key part to decarbonize organizations
- This position can be based anywhere in the Asia Pacific region.
Key accountabilities
You will provide expertise in consulting and project management to our clients, and key accountabilities include:
- Providing expertise to multiple projects, managing own time to meet deadlines.
- Ensuring that projects are executed within scope, quality, budget and planning requirements.
- Advise our clients about decarbonization, energy management, greenhouse gas (GHG) accounting and GHG reduction measures.
- Fostering positive relationships with existing and new clients, understanding client needs and developing winning proposals.
- Do quantitative and qualitative analyses for the projects you are working on.
- Develop greenhouse gas inventories for Scope 1, 2 and 3.
- Support our customers to define their decarbonization strategy
- Contributing to clear and high-quality customer interactions and presentations in project delivery.
- Managing portfolio of clients in terms of projects, reports, presentations and deliverables.
- Leading and supporting the production of technical reports for clients.
- Networking and liaising internally to build project delivery competence and collaboration between different teams
- Build strong relationship with existing and new customers
Competency requirements

Education:
Bachelor’s Degree (or higher) in engineering, science or sustainable energy.
Specialisations in energy efficiency-related topics, energy value chains, greenhouse gas accounting and decarbonization would be viewed favourably.
Desirable experience:
10 - 15 years of relevant working experience, preferably within the energy sector, heavy industries or an engineering consultancy
- Excellent analytical skills - able to analyse and understand complex problems, work with large data sets, have attention to detail and create logical solutions and ideas.
- Proven ability to produce clear and concise written technical reports and communicate verbally in English.
- Ability to clearly articulate and present complex ideas and concepts to a diverse range of stakeholders
- Self-starting knowledge of greenhouse gas accounting, energy transition and decarbonization challenges and trends
- Ability to manage own time and workload effectively and meet objectives
- Ability to handle complex (technical) problems and be able to deal with multiple parties with conflicting interests.
