The Opportunity
As Head of Business Development (BD) APAC, you will manage an existing pipeline of commercial opportunities and validate new opportunities. You will work with both commercial and policy activities to support the growth of Teva’s APAC market share, with particular focus on ANZ & Korea.
Deliverables include:
- Lead product strategy & selection and develop market opportunities across APAC and ANZ.
- Assess markets & opportunities for strategic partnership and licensing opportunities, and determine the feasibility of these opportunities through robust financial modelling.
- Identify unmet market needs or other market opportunities for potential growth.
We are looking for a strategic, dynamic and a commercial astute Head of BD to drive our growth plans to the next level. If you have a successful track record in building portfolio through business development within the pharmaceuticals industry, in licensing products and have existing relationships with key 3rd party partners across APAC, then this may be the opportunity for you.
This role reports to the Vice President APAC Cluster Head & General Manager ANZ, and can be based either in Australia or Singapore.
How You’ll Spend your Day
- Develop and lead delivery of ANZ and APAC strategic planning process to support existing product pipeline and new business opportunities.
- Lead the preparation of market research reports and internal briefings.
- Develop commercial strategy and scope of business opportunities.
- Examine and understand the ANZ and APAC pharmaceutical market to provide in-depth strategic intelligence for business development purposes.
- Proactively identify and propose business opportunities to further develop the business in ANZ and APAC.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with HCPs leveraging highly developed interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively and collaboratively with external stakeholders.
- Work collaboratively with the local ANZ & APAC leadership teams.
- 30-40% travel required.
Your Experience And Qualifications
- Degree qualified
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in business development and strategic marketing in the pharmaceuticals industry
- A strong track record in building portfolio through BD across generics and specialty pharmaceuticals, successful in licensing products and new product launch experience in APAC
- High level of commercial acumen
- A self-starter, hands-on approach, a strong “can-do” attitude and a curious mind-set
- Ability to work independently but can collaborate well with others and build strong working relationships locally, regionally & globally
- Possess a high level of business ethics, integrity and professionalism
- Ability to work in changing environment with an openness to change and to think out of the box
- Excellent attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple projects
