The role of the Senior Assistant Director, Resource Personnel (RP) is to support the Research Entity (RE)/ Principal Investigators (PIs) in managing the processes related to the management of core and non-core funding including budgeting, proper cost allocation and charging, making quarterly projections, making grant requisitions, liaising with the auditors of the grants, and submitting the requisite reports as required within the terms and conditions of the grants and reporting on the utilisation. In addition, the RP will support general RE administration. The SAD will also supervise 2 staff.
Job description:
- Be a strategic partner and support the key stakeholders on management of budgets and grants to ensure progress and sustainability of the institute
- Manage fund requisitions, audits and reconciliations of expenses
- Provide timely reporting, projections and tracking of budget and expenses
- Conduct statistical analyses of data, trends as well as analyse budget utilization.
- Ensure internal controls and financial procedures are in compliance with A*STAR Financial Policy and Procedures (FPP).
- Prepare annual and ad-hoc budget projections
- Monthly Access Control Review - iGrants.
- Supervise 2 RPs
Job Requirements:
- Educational background in Business Administration/Finance with at least 3 to 5 years of experience in resource or grant management, financial planning and analysis, as well as financial operations and reporting.
- Well versed in SAP GUI, Microsoft Office particularly Microsoft Excel and Powerpoint.
- Able to multi-task and deliver results under tight timelines.
- Strong strategic and analytical thinking skills.
- Resourceful and driven with high energy level.
- Effective communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.
- Able to work independently and in a team to deliver results under tight timelines.
- Willing to take on ad hoc additional duties, if required
