The Company:
Our client is an APAC HQ investment bank with a centralised legal team based in Singapore. They seek for an experienced financial services regulatory lawyer to come on board on a 12 month contract basis for various projects across cross border banking products.
Responsibilities:
· Navigate the complex regulatory landscape of the financial services industry and ensuring compliance with applicable laws across global markets, wealth management and private banking sectors.
· Tweak and adjust any legal policies and regulatory frameworks in place within the APAC region, and in line with global projects including EMEA in accordance with regulatory changes and new products/services.
· Liaison with APAC regulatory authorities for enforcement of compliance standards, typically with SFC, HKMA and MAS.
· Negotiate and train front office stakeholders with regards to any impactful changes in regulatory matters.
Qualifications:
· Common law qualified preferably with more than 10 years of FS regulatory experience in investment or corporate banking sectors.
· In-depth knowledge of financial services regulations and a proven ability to interpret and apply regulatory requirements.
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
· Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
