Harneys is looking for a qualified lawyer to join the Singapore team to work on a diverse portfolio of transactional matters including corporate, banking, regulatory, funds and private wealth and trust matters.
Who you’ll be working with
A collegiate team of 5 finance, corporate, funds and private wealth and trust lawyers working with colleagues across the Harneys global network.
What you’ll be doing
- Advising on a variety of corporate, funds, regulatory and finance matters for clients with interests in the British Virgin Islands, Cayman Islands, Anguilla and Bermuda.
- Responsibilities
- Supporting the Singapore transactional team covering Banking & Finance, Corporate & Commercial, Funds & Regulatory, Private Wealth & Trusts.
- Contribute to appropriate business development activities of the team and the firm.
- Wherever the opportunity arises, promote the services of teams from across the firm to the client for whom you are acting.
- Take responsibility for delegated work, ask for guidance in respect of matters which are unclear and report errors which need to be resolved.
- Share ideas, know-how, expertise, documents and precedents.
- Provide accurate cost estimates for clients.
- Update clients at regular intervals.
- Bill clients accurately and at agreed times.
- Achieve agreed targets, including hours and billing.
- Ensure that any changes relating to the file are notified to the lawyer in charge of the file.
- Demonstrate compliance with the firm's quality standards and procedures.
- Support other lawyers with research, drafting and matter administration.
- Contribute to the development of the transactional practices in Singapore and internationally.
- Develop a deep understanding and knowledge of offshore laws.
- Build effective relationships across all Harneys locations and businesses with key stakeholders, to enable successful working practices and partnerships.
- Take responsibility for training and development needs with support from partners and associates.
