My client, a video technology company is seeking an experienced Head of Sales to lead and manage our channel sales team across APAC. This critical role will play a key role in driving sales growth and expanding our market presence in this strategically important region. The Head of Sales will be responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive sales strategy, cultivating and maintaining strong relationships with channel partners, and working closely with the global team to achieve revenue targets.
Role
- Manage and lead a team of Channel Business Managers, Distribution Channel Managers, and Inside Channel Managers to achieve target sales goals.
- Develop and implement a strategic sales plan for the APAC subregion, including key account and territory planning, sales targets, and channel partner management.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with external distribution partners, local resellers, and system integrators.
- Identify, recruit, and manage new channel partners to expand our market reach and penetration.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to create and execute effective sales and marketing campaigns tailored to the unique needs of each market.
- Demonstrate a deep understanding of the unique dynamics, market maturity, and market penetration levels in each territory, and adapt sales strategies accordingly.
- Provide valuable market feedback and insights to the product development team to ensure that our products are aligned with market needs.
- Work closely with the VP APAC to align regional sales strategies with the company's global objectives.
- Monitor and report on sales performance, market trends, and competitive activity across the region.
- Conduct regular training and enablement programs for channel partners to enhance product knowledge and sales effectiveness.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in managing a large or distributed sales team.
- Strong understanding of the technology or surveillance industry is preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field; MBA preferred.
- Proven track record of success in software sales, particularly through external distribution and channel partners.
- Extensive experience in the Asian market, with a deep understanding of the cultural nuances of North Asia, South East Asia, Korea, and Japan.
- Strong leadership and team collaboration skills.
- Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
- Demonstrated ability to adapt and thrive in a dynamic, global organization.
- Willingness to travel extensively within the region as needed.
