Alumni Relations Manager

Responsibilities:

The Alumni Relations Manager is responsible for planning and executing programs that drive engagement among students and alumni to promote and foster high quality, lifelong-relationship between SAS and its alumni. A key component of this role is volunteer management. The Manager will serve as the main point of contact for volunteers for the Alumni Club Program, on-campus reunion, and Class Representative Program.


On-Campus Alumni Reunion and Alumni Events

  • Organize the annual on-campus alumni reunion, managing logistics for 500+ attendees.
  • Identify, recruit, motivate, manage, influence and steward 25-50 alumni reunion volunteers annually as leaders and peer-to-peer marketers. Recruit them, setting clear expectations of roles and responsibilities. Train, guide and direct them to engage their classmates and encourage them to participate in the reunion.
  • Plan, promote, and execute 6+ annual in-person alumni events in the USA and Singapore.

Alumni Clubs Program

  • Manage and expand the alumni city clubs program, targeting 5 cities by 2024-25.
  • Oversee 15+ volunteers, ensuring the successful execution of 10+ volunteer-led events per year.
  • Provide support in developing communications and enhancing club leadership capabilities.

Class Representative Program

  • Develop and manage the class representative program of 40+ alumni volunteers.

Student Engagement Program

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive student engagement program to facilitate a seamless transition from student to alumni status.
  • Raise awareness about alumni services and philanthropy among students.

Online Engagement of Alumni

  • Maintain and update content in the SAS Alumni Network portal to ensure it remains a valuable resource for alumni and help promote use of platform.
  • Serve as key liaison to Communications Team to advise on alumni social media strategy and help source content for social media engagement.
  • Support and promote the activities of the online SAS Alumni Store.

Alumni Visits and Campus Tour

  • Coordinate and manage alumni visits and campus tours in collaboration with the Advancement Executive.

Qualification Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years work experience in alumni engagement, volunteer management & digital marketing, preferably in an educational institution, or in educational administration capacity - or a combination of highly transferable skills/experience.
  • Fluency in English required.
  • Strong public-speaking, presentation and writing skills, with specialized mastery of digital marketing
  • Ability to thrive in an international and diverse environment
  • Outstanding interpersonal, communication, and listening skills
  • Knowledge of alumni engagement and volunteer management
  • Ability to manage/influence volunteers strategically and creatively to achieve ambitious goals

Competencies and Skills:

  • Communication: Demonstrates excellent proficiency in English, both written and verbal.
  • Problem-Solving: Demonstrated strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Event Management: Experience in managing and organizing events.
  • Volunteer Management: Experience in managing high-level volunteers with a variety of cultural backgrounds.
  • Content Knowledge: Core computer skills in word processing, database management, spreadsheets and electronic communications. Ability to use specialized software such as Blackbaud, RaisersEdge, Veracross.
  • Cultural Competence: An ability to challenge one's own and other's cultural assumptions, beliefs and values; Promotes safe reciprocal relationships with respect and expectations of diversity, equity and inclusion.
