Metta Preschool Punggol (慈光幼儿园) has been in operation since its official opening on 31 July 2010. The Centre receives cases from SG Enable through referrals from hospitals. Enrolment will take place after the initial screening process is completed. Our Centre specializes in early intervention programmes for children under two to six years old from various races and religions who are diagnosed or suspected with mild to moderate autism spectrum disorders (ASD), global developmental delay and/or intellectual disabilities. Early intervention seeks to maximize the potential development of these infants and children.
The children attend a 3-hour session programmes twice a week. The multi-disciplinary team consists of teachers, occupational therapists and speech and language therapists. They come together to discuss and set specific and measurable 1-year goals for the Individualized Education Plan (IEP) of each child. The IEP focuses on 6 domains: fine motor, gross motor, adaptive, cognitive, social communication and social skills.
As a Teacher, the candidate is responsible in the following areas:
- To implement Metta Preschool curriculum.
- To develop and prepare curriculum resources.
- To provide and maintain a safe, healthy and conducive learning environment for students.
- To maintain student records
- To implement Individualized Education Plan (IEP) in collaboration of a transdisciplinary team of professional.
- To organize activities/outings for students
- To assist in On-Job-Training (OJT) of new staff/interns
- To comply with ISO requirements
- To comply with NCSS/MSF requirements
- To do any other duties as assigned by Manager or Head of Curriculum.
Job Requirement
- Minimum Diploma in Early Childhood Care and Education or equivalent is preferred.
- Relevant work experience in the Preschool setting is advantageous.
- Able to work both independently and within a tram-disciplinary team.
- Hardworking, meticulous and responsible.
- Interest in working with children with special needs.
Working Location: Punggol
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 5.30pm
