Your duties would consist of but not limited to:
- Support the safe and efficient operation of the assigned fleet in compliance with the Company requirements as well as with prevalent international Rules and Regulations;
- Focus loss-prevention and compliance as core-objective of daily activities
- Be conversant with the Company’s Integrated Management System (IMS)
- Monitor and support the SMT for the assigned vessels with the implementation of relevant standards, regulatory requirements and Industry Best Practices
- Monitor the operations and pollution prevention activities of the vessels in the assigned fleet
- Conduct vessel attendance for internal audits for ISM-ISPS and applicable ISO standards
- Conduct inspections & trainings with focus on vessel performance, loss prevention and increasing crew awareness on safe and efficient vessel operations
- Conduct incident investigations in area of expertise, analyze performance deviations and evaluate and follow –up on identified control actions
- Trigger, and participate as required, in the Management of Change process
- Communicate analysis of results of performance deviations (PSC, incidents) to assigned fleet team
- Handling of Security matters for the assigned fleet under the guidance of the CSO
- Responsible for maintaining navigational standards (including risk analysis), liaising internally with relevant departments on operational matters
- Assist and provide guidance in cargo related operational matters;
- Member of the Emergency Response team
- Participate in Customer meetings, as needed
- Support in the recruiting process of new seafarers and promotion of seafarers to higher ranks
- Support in the Management Review process as instructed by the SVP
- Support the SMT with Charterers inspection/ vetting inspection preparations and follow-up
- Conduct performance monitoring of the assigned fleet and provide feedback to the relevant SI/ Fleet Management team
- Administration of and participation in special projects and additional duties allocated by the SVP
- Assist in the Planning and implementation of methods/ tools for voyage performance measurements of ships
- Familiarization with owners’ and charters’ requirements regarding performance reporting in order to support the SMT’s daily operation
Requirements
Your profile:
- Seagoing experience of min. 5 years, preferable in the position from C/O upwards
- Experience in designing and implementing Quality & Safety Management Systems auditing and training with Container Vessels experience
- Sound knowledge of ISM / ISPS/ MLC Code requirements
- Auditing experience preferred
- Knowledge and experience in environmental and ISO standards in the marine industry preferred.
- Analytical, problem solving, time management, project management and decision making skills.
- Self-motivated and ability to work well under time pressures with little supervision.
- Capability to identify operational risks and advise practical mitigation measures.
