Summary
The Creative Leadership team establishes and champions a clear vision for the brand and how it meets its customers. They are accountable for ensuring CBRE's products align properly with that vision. They review, and guide the creative content of products, exercising both design direction and design management. Their mission is to champion, influence and align all creative work developed by the creative team with the broader CBRE strategy across all touch points: products, experiences, and communications.
Creative Directors are responsible for the operational success of their teams in support of accomplishing business goals for multiple regions and or line of business as assigned. Individuals in this role are hyper-focused on ensuring the highest-quality production and execution of marketing campaigns for internal and external clients. This is a player-coach role in which you will be hands on with your direct reports and with key cross-functional partners (i.e., Project Managers, Researchers, Writers, etc.) to conceptualize and execute visual creative concepts for CBRE and its clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Accountable for facilitating the translation of APAC business and marketing objectives into creative strategies and provide appropriate brand solutions at the production-level. They must ensure that all creative components of a client effort / project are completed with the highest quality, on time and within defined frameworks.
- Oversees the APAC creative team and is accountable for the day-to-day execution of assignments while setting the creative direction for regions and/or Line of Business.
- Drives the workflow with development and delivery of all creative projects in partnership with all other teams (brand, digital, marketing, research, etc.)
- Helps marketing & creative leadership identify key stakeholders and influencers to develop support strategies for all existing and new business development activities. Has a strong POV and creative vision along with a clear, concise ability to provide direction to internal and external partners.
- Packages creative concepts and adeptly presents to internal stakeholders in persuasive, articulate and compelling ways. Invents and inspires customer experiences and user flows that are radically consistent, curiously easy, and bold by design. Communicates with internal teams to assure objectives are clear and expectations are met.
- Crafts high-level creative briefs and presentation decks, along with sketches and comps that communicate concepts and campaigns. Acts as an interpreter for client needs – strategizing appropriate delivery methods that convey the client's message. Participates in creative presentations to internal and external stakeholders, effectively representing concepts and solutions to influence sell-through to clients.
- With a deep understanding of the commercial real estate industry and broader purview to CBRE tools, technologies and services they're able to effectively contribute to the standards around which others will operate. Requires in-depth understanding of how areas collectively integrate within the sub-function as well as coordinate and contribute to the objectives of the entire function; they are accountable for quality and aesthetics of assigned projects for executive leadership approval.
- Manages the career development of team and serves as a motivating and inspiring force that gets the best performance out of people: setting clear goals, allocating resources and assignments as appropriate, ensuring deadlines are met and team members are set up for success. Responsible for ensuring that Art Directors and Senior Art Directors are building and deploying formal mentorship to junior members of the team.
- Forecasts resourcing needs, identifies potential obstacles and work with key stakeholders to drive a schedule for projects while prioritizing and using resources effectively. Serves as primary point of contact between production teams, cross-functional partners, and creative & marketing leadership.
- Regularly connects with senior leadership to share feedback and improvement opportunities on existing policies and procedures, best practices that impact the broader department. Proactively works to solve problems and communicate to senior management, and actively seek clarification when there is ambiguity.
- Leverages excellent presentation skills and communication abilities at all levels of both internal and client organizations. Serves as a customer-facing point of contact who can back up, and speak to the creative product clearly and confidently.
- May have responsibility for planning, budgeting and policy formulation within area of expertise. Involved in short-term planning resource planning. Full management responsibility of a team, which may include management of people, budget and planning, to include duties such as performance evaluation, compensation hiring, disciplinary and terminations and may include budget approval.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) or equivalent from four-year college or university in Fine Arts, Graphic Design, Media, Information Technology or a related degree is required, plus a minimum of 8+ years related work experience.
- Minimum 4-5 years of strategic creative design and direction experience with emphasis in Commercial Real Estate.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) is required.
- Must have advanced knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite such as Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign (knowledge of HTML/CSS is a plus).
