Director, Destination Marketing - South East Asia

The Director, Destination Marketing - South East Asia (SEA) will be responsible for developing, driving, and executing the Marketing and eCommerce strategy in support of the SEA region, hotels, and ownership groups, driving towards excellence in digital channel revenue and direct share growth.

The Destination Marketing team brings to life the key value proposition of Hilton's portfolio of brands to create relationships with the world's travelers so they get to know, love, prefer and choose Hilton for more of their travel occasions.

This position is a senior leadership position requiring a high level of strategic capability. You will be responsible for the marketing strategy that drives commercial performance in the retail segment of your destination(s) along with the timely execution of this strategy in market. You are required to have a deep understanding of your market(s), strong functional and commercial acumen, and effective stakeholder management. While being a functional leader for hotel marketing professionals, you are also a key business partner for the regional commercial services leader and a core member of the APAC Regional Marketing & eCommerce Leadership Team.


What will I be doing?
As the Director, Destination Marketing - SEA, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

Destination & Regional Marketing

  • Developing the destination marketing strategy for target audiences traveling within and into the destination(s), ensuring alignment to the regional commercial and global marketing strategy, to achieve internal KPIs and external competitive share; this includesDestination marketing budget management
    Leveraging internal and external data sources to continually optimize the plan
    Cultivating, building, and leveraging in-market relationships, partnerships, and resources
    Measuring and reporting on destination performance
    Stakeholder management and communications
  • Ensuring participation in and the activation of region-wide / global brand and partnership marketing campaigns where relevant and aligned to regional business needs and destination planInternal stakeholder management as the voice of marketing and loyalty with the region
    Ensure all hotels within destination benefit from the full range of corporate marketing and e-commerce initiatives (including brand, digital and social)
  • Partner with hotels / regional operations stakeholders to develop and execute innovative locally relevant campaigns to grow customer engagement and consideration
  • Build and sustain an entrepreneurial and agile team culture

Hotel Support

  • Align key hotels’ marketing plans to ensure tight integration with the commercial hotel need and the destination plan
  • To be fully acquainted of the commercial performance and marketing plans across key hotels within the destination (both locally and centrally supported)
  • Support key hotels in destination to optimize their online and offline content and hotel presence, with a focus to grow direct revenue and channel mix
  • Evaluation of hotels’ performance and guidance to marketing and communication teams at hotels; attend regional team visits to key hotels
  • Develop and drive integrated marketing plans of new key profile hotel openings within the region in partnership with new hotel openings team, Brand team, PR team and hotel marketing
  • Engage and support in the relationship management for key ownership groups
  • Hotel performance and regional co-op budget solicitation and management


What are we looking for?

A Director, Destination Marketing - SEA serving Hilton Brands is always working on behalf of our Guests and working with other Team Members. To successfully fill this role, you should maintain the attitude, behaviors, skills, and values that follow:

  • BA / BS / Bachelor's Degree
  • 7+ years of related experience
  • 6+ years of management or supervisory experience
  • Director level skills and proficiency
  • Ability to influence and effectively collaborate with multiple stakeholders at SVP level
  • Strong commercial and analytical skills with the ability to drive business performance
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with proficiency in presenting regular business reviews and performance updates to executive level leaders
  • In-depth experience of presenting findings (storytelling) to internal and/or external customers and providing strategic recommendations
  • Experience in leading and managing agency relationships and agency performance
  • Experience in leading and delivering partnership campaigns in-region
  • Experience of working across multiple regions, cultures, and linguistic boundaries
  • Experience in delivering creative and innovative digital campaigns, products, plans for multiple destinations
  • Strategic leadership and timely delivery of innovative revenue related projects
  • In depth knowledge of all marketing tools and channels
  • Extensive experience of digital marketing and e-commerce
  • Highly proficient in reviewing data, and developing insights
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite
  • 40 to 50% travel with the ability to travel as required

It would be advantageous in this position for you to demonstrate the following capabilities and distinctions:

  • MS / MA / Master's Degree
  • 10+ years of related experience
  • 8+ years of management or supervisory experience
  • Near native or native language skills relevant to market(s) under remit
