1. Laboratory duties
- Understanding of the experiment requirement and objectives.
- Preparation of laboratory equipment, apparatus, hardware, software for lab classes.
- Housekeep the laboratory after each laboratory session.
- Support the Lecturer for the laboratory sessions/workshops.
- Arrange and provide lab familiarization sessions for new lecturers on experiments.
2. Responsible for laboratory inventory and procurement of laboratory materials and equipment
- Assist in the keeping of records and regular report to the reporting officer.
- To provide & maintain proper bookkeeping on lab matters such as feedback, problem tracking and follow-up actions.
- Obtain quotations and discuss requirements with the reporting officer.
- Provide technical assistance and support to students in their projects.
3. Equipment maintenance (Hardware/Software)
- Ensuring all laboratory equipment/apparatus are in working conditions.
- Provide servicing, maintenance, troubleshooting & minor repair of laboratory equipment.
- Assisting in managing of software licenses, installations or updating, setup, and maintenance of lab computers and software.
- Liaising with vendors on equipment servicing, maintenance or calibrations.
4. Workplace Safety & Health
- Deliver WSH and Risk Assessment Talks to students
- Ensuring lab safety at all times and all users (e.g. students, lecturers, etc) to comply with the lab rules & regulations.
- Assist in conducting risk assessment for engineering laboratories.
- Taking the role as Occupational First Aider.
- Monitor FYP and workshop activities and collect suggestions for possible improvements.
5. General Matters
- Any ad hoc duties as assigned by Reporting Officer
Requirements
- Diploma in Engineering discipline(Electrical/Mechanical/Mechatronics) with at least 1 year of experience
- Familiar and able to operate laboratory equipment, software & perform troubleshooting if required.
- In-depth domain knowledge which includes the understanding of lab objectives, applied principles and lab safety requirements
- Knowledge of laboratory safety requirements
- Able and willing to share knowledge with others
- A good team player
- Willing to work on rotational shift duties

- Weekdays Shift: 8.30am to 5.30pm /1pm to 10pm
- Sat duty (once a month)
- No class/lab - 8.30 am to 5.30 pm
- With class/lab - 9 am to 6 pm
