About the role:
As part of the Attractions Development team, your responsibilities include closely collaborating with Theming subcontractors to implement genuine theming in a natural setting. Moreover, you will interact with internal and external stakeholders to design exhibit and interpretive elements throughout the location.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
Theming:
- Offer artistic guidance to theming contractors in accordance with the park's vision.
- Provide theming assistance and collaborate with other disciplines, including landscape, architecture, animal, and adventure elements.
- Evaluate offsite and onsite fabrication and installation activities within the location, offering insights on texture, colour, and form based on mock-ups, initial articles, through buy-off approvals, and handover.
- Assist in theming coordination, scenography, and aesthetic curation for soundscape and lighting.
Interpretive Design:
- Direct the Design and Build contractor in developing the design for the Exhibit and Interpretation of the place.
- Formulate a design brief document for the Exhibit, Interpretive, and Artwork components of the landscape, actively supporting the tender and award process.
- Oversee the aesthetic aspects throughout mock-up, fabrication, and installation phases, encompassing layout, graphics, fit-out materials, furniture, replicas, sculptures, props, sounds, and video productions.
- Create a design brief document for artwork, facilitating the artwork tender, evaluation, and supervising the final installation.
- Collaborate closely with stakeholders to secure all necessary approvals.
Requirement:
- A minimum of a Bachelor's degree/diploma (or equivalent) in fine art, exhibit design, architecture/landscape architecture, or a related discipline.
- Possess at least 10 to 15 years of pertinent experience in theming, theme park design, and exhibit art direction.
- Demonstrated experience in collaborating with contractors and a diverse set of consultants.
- Proactive team player exhibiting robust interpersonal skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, as well as presentation skills.
- Adaptability and strong stakeholder management proficiency during the construction and handover stages.
- Robust project management skills with clear success indicators throughout the planning and execution phases.
- Keen attention to detail, with a refined sense of composition and color.
- Proficiency in Photoshop.
