We are looking for a Data Network Engineer to join our Corporate division. The Symbio corporate division includes the core technology, legal, finance, marketing and people experience teams that work across our global organisation.
Reporting to the Engineering Manager, this role will be be responsible for the design, build and operation of our voice and data network in Singapore; including technology roadmaps, lifecycle & capacity management, and network support & operations. You will be able contribute to our technology strategy in both Singapore and across the region.
As part of this role, you will be required to participate in an after-hours and on-call roster.
What you'll do as a Data Network Engineer:
- Supporting design, build and operation of domestic data and optical networks, and associated services & applications
- Participate in the configuration and expansion of our network capacity as well as exploring new technologies
- Solutioning, implementing and support network projects
- Ensuring the security of our networks
- Customer stakeholder management
- Effective management of work backlogs
What you'll need to succeed:
- Computer Science / Engineering related degree/diploma
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a data engineering role in a Telco/ISP/Large enterprise
- Technical knowledge of network architecture and internet protocols.
- Worked with OSPF, BGP protocol and good understanding of layer 3 IP routing.
- Familiar with Layer 2 and 3 switching, spanning tree protocol.
- Experienced with Cisco, Juniper & Arista configuration.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Linux System Administration (especially automation tools e.g. Salt, Ansible) is desirable
- An understanding of VoIP concepts and technologies is highly desirable
- Team player – good interpersonal skills.
- Ability to think outside of the box, and demonstrate strong problem-solving skills.
- Customer focused attitude.
