Mechanical Engineer / Maintenance Technician
- To promote the improvement of overall reliability, preventive and corrective maintenance, in addition to responding to breakdowns.
- To plan and schedule planned and unplanned machine servicing of production lines, including utilities and electrical works.
- To develop maintenance strategies for controlling maintenance cost.
- To plan monthly work schedule to set and achieve machines OEE.
- To be responsible for the delivery of maintenance activities in compliance with equipment requirements.
- To be involved in maintenance/project management.
- Attend to repairs, maintenance, alteration, installation and fabrication works. (welding experience is an advantage).
- To be involved in management meetings related to machines, upkeep of factory premise and maintenance status.
- To support machines pre-startup maintenance activities to ensure smooth and efficient runs.
- To respond to operational and maintenance issues and provide solutions that are both safe and cost effective.
- To ensure proper planning for spare parts material availability at site for maintenance/ corrective works.
- To liaise with suppliers representative on all maintenance/ project issues and sub-contractors coordination works.
- To be responsible for controlling maintenance related tools, storage including the workstation shop.
- To initiate and undertake action to prevent the occurrence of non-conformity.
- To identify and record any product quality problems and to verify the implementation of solutions.
- Monitor, enforce and comply with the site and maintenance procedures so that housekeeping, cGMP, quality, safety, occupational hygiene, regulatory guidelines and environmental protection requirements are met.
- To assess and implement new maintenance technologies that promotes and improve work efficiency and productivity.
- To report to Technical Manager on all maintenance works and planning for smooth delivery of works.
- Responsible to stay contactable as required for on-call maintenance
- Responsible for alerting the Operations Manager/Technical Manager and the Management of any unusual occurrence and/or damage that have taken place or might occur
Requirements:
- Diploma or Degree in Engineering (Mechanical/Maintenance) or equivalent.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant working experience as Maintenance Engineer handling maintenance servicing in Food Manufacturing Industries.
- Those with experience with HACCP, FSSC 22000 or equivalent is an advantage.
