Senior Account Manager
About the role
The Senior Account Manager is required to provide credible and sound counsel on day-to-day matters. Person should be able to lead people and projects in a mature and professional level, be accountable for high standard program implementation, is reliable and able to implement program objectives. Assists and reports to the line Manager on all matters pertaining to client programs and staff developments.
Client Service
- Provides credible and sound counsel on day-to-day matters based on understanding of client’s overall business strategy.
- Demonstrates understanding/knowledge of relevant industry sectors and to counsel clients accordingly, able to leverage client industry information.
- Offers strategic advice and direction on PR programs. Ensure all day-to-day activities on all client accounts are being managed effectively and in line with program objectives.
- Initiates and chair client meetings if needed according to agenda.
- Actively pursues and develop excellent media relations and contacts for client and corporate development.
- Provides strategic inputs and creative thoughts to presentations and proposals.
- Demonstrates strong event management capability with anticipation.
Administration / Team Account Operations
- Ensures work is progressing based on planned objectives and deadlines fully achieved, maintain quality control over all work produced and ensure all work is carried out within budget and timeline.
- Plans, manages, supervises and facilitates media / influencer events
- Allocates resources fairly and appropriately according to business needs.
- Leads and identifies research needs. Know how to utilize insights and where to find information.
- Supervises, reviews and edits work-in-progress document on a weekly basis.
- Ensures contracts are signed before commencement of work by the agency.
- Provides strategic inputs and creative thoughts to presentations and proposals.
- Ensures accurate and timely submission of team’s claims, vendor invoices and client billings
- Supports direct team reports to ensure smooth integration of new businesses
- Supports and advocates of company culture; actively seeks new and efficient ways of doing things.
- Accountable for financial aspects of cost management on client accounts.
Business Development
- Actively seeks new business opportunities and leads/supports business pitch proposals.
- Plan, prepare and lead winning proposals and pitching work.
- Demonstrates strong presentation skills during pitches.
People Management
- Leads & develops direct team members to build and maintain a high performing team aligned to company and clients’ values and business objectives
- Mentors and supervises quality of work produced by direct reports of the team. Provides sufficient explanations and insights e.g. share knowledge of media preferences, how to pitch stories, step in to secure coverage if required.
- Be a role model for all staff according to company values.
- Conducts mid year and end year appraisals for all team members as well as one to one catch up with direct reports on a quarterly basis.
- Actively maintains and builds positive working relationships and team bonding.
Requirements
- Practitioner with at least 6 years of relevant agency and or agency + in-house experience in the public relations / marketing / media industry with minimum 2 years of managerial responsibilities with direct reports
- Prior beauty industry or consumer lifestyle experience in marketing communications or branding capacity will be preferred.
- Prior experience in social media/digital/content management skills preferred
- Strong writing skills and confident presenter with a good command in English
- Excellent communication skills: ability to express ideas and articulate concepts, recommendations in a clear and concise manner both verbally and in writing.
- Good problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and be solution-based
- Understand the principles of social and digital platforms and how it can be employed to meet client’s business objectives.
- In-depth understanding of local media landscape and possess strong media and influencer contacts and relationships.
- Able to command attention, establish credibility, respect and rapport with clients and within the team.
- Able to multi-task, prioritize and deliver quality work in a timely manner across multiple accounts.
- Demonstrates a self-starter approach, innovation and creativity.
