Position Summary:
TIR seeks a Systems Application Engineer to provide high-level technical and design support for the Audio/Visual (A/V) line of business. The successful candidate possesses design and knowledge with A/V and video teleconferencing systems mainly used in commercial fields; some relevant experience regarding A/V systems; and demonstrated customer-facing communication skills with the ability to effectively interface at all levels of an organization. Reports to the Project Manager.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret A/V systems drawings and specifications
- Assist in creating department technical standards, processes, and procedures
- Design and configure AV, DSP & Control Systems
- Perform commissioning and acceptance testing of system
- Test integrated systems and perform troubleshooting as needed
- Demonstrate and train customers on installed systems.
- Assist manufacturers and customers with problem resolution as needed
- Help establish and grow TIR presence and reputation in the marketplace
- Travel to various job sites and provide installation support as required
- Attend courses based on new technological trend to enhance knowledge
Skills and Abilities:
- Proficient with test and calibration equipment
- Proficient in uploading and downloading programs in A/V systems
- Proficient in control system design
- (Crestron/AMX/Extron)
- Experience with Polycom/Cisco,
- Clearone, Biamp and similar products
- Understand DSP best practices and programming
- Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot complex system problems
- Understanding of UC/VC requirements and systems
- Understanding of computer networking and troubleshooting pertaining to A/V and video teleconferencing (VTC) cyber-security
