Job Purpose / Role
We currently have an opening for a Senior Financial Analyst in our Planning & Controlling department in the Singapore office. This position supports the Regional Chief Financial Officer and Global Head of Planning & Controlling and is based in Singapore. This is an expert position and has no staff reporting into it.
Key Responsibilities
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Analyze financial performance for local and global Allianz Re purposes and provide data driven insightsto support business steering and monitoring.
- Support the development and rollout of best practice processes and toolkit for the effective analysis of the Allianz Re portfolio in Asia.
- Assist in budgetary planning processes on global and local level (as needed), including annual planning and quarterly forecasting, in close collaboration with the global controlling team.
- Understand and analyse the key drivers to validate forecast and to support business functions in establishing data-driven decisions and strategies.
- Prepare quarterly management reports and manage cost controlling processes.
- Ensure accuracy of management reports and support preparation of presentation materials to senior management, headquarter, board and board committees.
- Perform regular expense analysis and work with actuarial team on updating expense methodology, including updates to support IFRS 17 attributable expenses analysis.
- Participate in finance and cross-functional projects/tasks as required.
- Work closely with different stakeholders and provide feedback to ensure the projects align with the organisation’s strategic goals and objectives.
- Complete ad-hoc requests as assigned.
Key Requirements / Skills / Experience
- Top academic performer with a university degree in a finance or finance-related subject (e.g. mathematics, actuarial science, business administration, economics or comparable).
- At least three years of professional analytical experience in the insurance / reinsurance industry, ideally in a multinational company with a matrix reporting structure.
- Ability to work independently with strong interpersonal communication and presentation skills.
- Proven experience and ability to deliver high quality output under time pressure.
- Excellent analytical skills and result oriented thinking.
- Resilient and adaptable, with an ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Fluent in English (spoken and written).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, with knowledge of SAP being an advantage.
