The Institute of Molecular and Cell Biology (IMCB) is a premier research institute at A*STAR whose mission is to harness biology for transformational bio-therapeutics and diagnostics. In this role, you will be working with the IMCB researchers, grant agencies as well as A*STAR finance, councils, and the central research office to provide relevant grant-related support to the institute.
Job Description: the role includes, but is not limited to, the following:
- Ensure that all grant proposal submissions meet the requirements as set by the respective granting agency.
- Review annual progress reports and final reports for various grants and ensure that these are submitted on time.
- Attend to requests from the granting agencies pertaining to budget scrubbing, letter of award and other steps required for timely activation of new grants.
- Assist investigators with changes related to their grants (deviation/variation requests).
- Work closely with A*STAR research office, councils, and finance regarding ad hoc requests for grant-related data and pending tasks.
- Serve as the institutional admin and help with creation and activation of accounts for grant-related portals such as IGMS and iGrants.
- Tabulate and track the grants of the institute to ensure easy extraction of grant data whenever required.
- Promptly attend to grant-related queries from investigators.
- Define timelines for internal review and approval SOP of grant calls and communicate to researchers for grant applications.
- Monitor, report and analyse grant application activities as well provide timely updates to management on grant status.
Requirements:
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Life Science or equivalent.
- Preferably with at least 3 years of working experience.
- Experience and/or keen interest in work related to governance/ policy/ research administration, especially in the research & development sector, is an advantage.
- Good team player with excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Excellent time management skills.
- Meticulous, resourceful, able to multi-task and work independently.
- Able to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders across functional groups and levels.
- Interested in science and technology.
- Proficient in M365 and related applications.
- Prior experience in dashboard reporting and/or project management is a plus.
