Director, Engineering APAC

What you will do:

The Director of Engineering APAC will drive the adoption and growth of the Global Engineering function across the APAC region. Reporting to our Global Director Engineering the selected candidate will lead the Post Sales Engineering for the APAC Region. This team will continue to expand and established the Global Engineering model throughout APAC to drive post sales application engineering efficiencies. They will work closely with all post sales engineering teams globally to drive post sales application engineering efficiencies, quality, increase scalability, volume, cycle time, training, and stronger margins. The Director will lead and manage the post sales engineering enablement process for the APAC region and will work with the field engineering teams as well as the GCoE Post Sales engineering team and the regional field leadership to standardize and simplify the process between all post sales resources throughout the JCI enterprise.

How you will do it:

You will drive adoption and growth of the global engineering function across Johnson Controls by:

  • Working closely with the installation leaders in the regions to identify post sales engineering needs
  • Helping with communication and awareness of the post sales engineering deliverables and capabilities
  • Enabling enterprise post sales support by expanding utilization of GCoE post global network
  • Working to gain efficiencies by harmonizing the engineering standards and processes as much as possible throughout APAC region into a Regional/Enterprise model.
  • Leveraging the Post Sales Support GCoE Network Process to improvement efficiencies and drive scale.
  • Identifying quick wins and support building a short- and long-term strategies.
  • Ensuring the Engineering (post-sales engineering) team is prepared to proactivity support new products and innovations once commercialized.
  • Ensuring the Engineering team and GCoE has a “seat at the table” on the commercialization of the products and services.
  • Standardize and simplify the process between all post sales application engineering resources in APAC through Implementation of:
  • Sel-Nav for product and labor estimating as well as the post sales engineering processes
  • Deployment of EPIC (Engineer Project Information Center) throughout the APAC Region for management of the engineering metrics
  • Adoption of the Enterprise GCoE standard process flow between the sales teams/pre-sales teams/post-sales team and the global engineering team.
  • Driving adoption of Enterprise Engineering systems and processes used by the regional/global engineering team.


What we look for:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Engineering or similar focus
  • Minimum of 10+ years’ experience in operations, engineering, sales or similar discipline driving a successful engineering team supporting a large global business
  • Strong understanding of pre & post sale engineering practices, process driven and able to drive consistency in complex global situations
  • leadership skills including the ability to operating successful with a matrix organization. Candidate must be able to lead and drive results across the matrix.
  • Excellent analytical and interpersonal skills with strong problem-solving capabilities.
  • Exceptional strategic thinking and execution capability
