You will provide leadership to the nursing education team by overseeing, directing and ensuring smooth operations of Nursing Education division. You will work closely with the Director of Nursing and collaborate with the clinical teams for nursing continuing education and compliance by delivering quality clinical care, professional development and education.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with Senior Nurse Manager / Nurse Manager / Nurse Clinician to identify learning gaps and training needs of nurses.
- Conduct orientation programmes for new nurses and staff on attachment / training. Guides them on various clinical skills by conducting appropriate induction and Continuing Nursing Education program.
- Deliver educational programmes in classroom or clinical settings.
- Supervise nurses to ensures skills competencies and nursing standards are met and maintained.
- Maintain training records in according to accreditation standards.
- Conduct regular discussions with Senior Nurse Educator and Clinical Preceptors to evaluate and update on training programmes / workshops conducted.
- Collaborate with Senior Nurse Educator to review the education practice policies and procedures to meet the current trends and needs of the professional education and practice.
- Participate quality improvement projects and initiatives.
- Assist Senior Nurse Educator to plan yearly capital expenditures and operating expenses for training department.
- Update and enhance skills and knowledge in nursing practices and keep abreast with latest developments in nursing.
- Act as an educational resource person for all grades of nurses.
- Plan allocation of clinical placement and conduct orientation programme for nursing students.
- Oversee the Clinical Instructors in monitoring nursing student’s clinical performance and provides counselling when necessary.
- Coach and monitor the nursing students on their learning and performance.
- Review and evaluate the effectiveness in nursing student management.
Requirements:
- Registered Nurse with the Singapore Nursing Board
- At least 3 years experience in the role of Senior Nurse Educator
- Post basic Certificate / Advanced Diploma in Nursing specialty
- Bachelor’s Degree in health-related subject or equivalent
- Master’s Degree in Education preferred
- Possess valid BCLS and AED Certification or BCLS and AED Instructor certification.
- Continued professional development & knowledge of current issues in nursing
- Experience in Curriculum Development
- Good knowledge of IT skills
