Role Description:
As the System Engineering Team Lead, you will play a pivotal role in managing and leading a team of talented system engineers. You will be responsible for overseeing the development, implementation, and maintenance of our engineering solutions. Working closely with cross-functional teams, including project managers, software engineers, electrical engineers, and mechanical engineers, you will ensure the successful execution of projects, meeting customer requirements, and driving technical excellence.
Responsibilities:
- Lead a team of system engineers, providing guidance, support, and mentorship to ensure the successful execution of projects.
- Work with the other team leads to ensure smooth execution of projects and manage conflicts
- Foster a collaborative and innovative team culture, promoting knowledge sharing, professional development, and continuous learning.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in robotics and automation systems, and provide recommendations for continuous improvement.
- Define project scopes, objectives, and deliverables, ensuring alignment with customer requirements.
- Understanding the system architecture and make necessary changes in consultation with the relevant specialists, including the system architect and various subject matter experts
- Oversee the development of robotics and automation systems, considering factors such as system architecture, hardware selection, software integration, and safety standards.
- Ensuring that interfaces between electrical, mechanical, and software engineering teams are defined, to ensure that subsystems can be integrated and functionality of the overall system is achieved.
- Manage the system engineering lifecycle, including requirements gathering, system design, prototyping, testing, deployment, and post-deployment support.
- Ensuring quality of the deliverables by employing QA tools such as FMEA, FTA
- To create test plans and execute them, and manage defects to ensure that they are adequately addressed
- Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies to ensure system reliability, availability, and maintainability.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
- Proven experience in System Engineering or Quality Assurance is ideal
- Strong technical background and understanding of various engineering disciplines, including electrical, mechanical, and software engineering.
- Proficiency in system engineering methodologies, tools, and best practices.
- Experience with system integration, including hardware and software interfaces, sensor integration, and control systems.
- Knowledge of safety standards and regulations, preferably related to robotics and automation systems.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate team members.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Proven track record of successfully leading and delivering complex engineering projects on time and within budget.
