Overview:
The Systems Engineer, is responsible for providing SME support, which includes planning, installation and administration of Workplace Management. The responsibilities incorporate administration of Workplace environment; creating and updating company images; development of task sequences for OS deployments; reviewing procedures of daily operations and implementing new procedures to improve efficiency and adhering to best practices.
Responsibilities:
- Implement and maintain Symantec Anti Virus solution.
- Provide administration support for all the anti-virus servers. OS and critical security patches update will need to be performed.
- Configure Symantec AV policies on the server and apply it onto all clients.
- Create installation package for every type of client machines.
- Configure Live update process & Help troubleshoot all issues related to signature downloading or updating
- Proactively monitor anti-virus console or logs for early warning of virus infection or attack.
- Checking regular synchronization and monitoring to ensure signatures are updated.
- Perform administrative tasks to configure, deploy and sustain Symantec AV clients installed and operational on all Workstations & SEP Servers.
- Providing assistance to the individual(s) responsible for the security function.
- Help troubleshoot all issues on virus infections / prevention
- Proper virus handling process for any virus outbreak.
- Develop any plans necessary to provide virus protection and anti-spam filtering.
- Respond to virus incidents in a planned and orderly manner.
- Provide proactive alerts to authorized users relative to current virus threats either specific to environment or based on industry information.
- Upon detection of a virus, take immediate steps to notify Client, assessing the scope of damage; arresting the spread and progressive damage from the virus; eradicating the virus; and (to the greatest extent possible) restoring all data and Software to its original state.
- Where there is virus outbreak, work with relevant parties; Anti-virus Service Provider, Authorized Users, Developers, Third Party Vendors and designated staff, where necessary, in determining the source of virus, and further eradicating them.
- Prepare and provide daily/weekly/adhoc reports from the Symantec AV server.
Requirements:
- Bachelor Degree or Diploma in Electrical/Electronic/Computer Engineering/Information System
- At least 5 years of experience in Windows Servers, Active Directory, Power Shell, Group Policy Objects and Workplace Management Tools (for e.g. HC BigFix, MS SCCM, Citrix VDI, Nexthink & etc)
- Extensive knowledge of PC Imaging Deployment, Patch Management, Software Distribution for desktop and server devices
- Ability to work in a heterogeneous environment
- Strong analysis and design background with sound documentation experience
- Experience in deployment of similar functions, such as HCL Big Fix, MS SCCM, Citrix VDI, Nexthink & etc
- Working experience with MSI technology, Application Packaging/Deployment processes and methodologies will be an added advantage
- In-depth knowledge of custom actions, scripts, scenarios based solution and regressive troubleshooting in Windows Installer Technology
- Candidate should be Symantec (SEP) Certified
