ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
The Facilities Executive is responsible for performing routine maintenance and repair service around the school campus in one or more fields (e.g. carpentry, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, etc.). The Facilities Executive is also in-charge of general maintenance and upkeep of the campus, leading and coordination of cleaners’ task assignments and other duties assigned. This is a full time role reporting to the School Principal.
AREAS OF KEY FOCUS
Responsibilities:
1. Maintenance:
- Identify school facilities maintenance needs and take corrective actions. Ensuring the safety and good functional standard of the school facilities.
- Conduct preventive maintenance and general troubleshooting of school building and facilities (e.g. aircon maintenance, fans, lighting, sound systems).
- Carry out minor mechanical and electrical repairs in relation to school buildings and facilities, planned and executed with minimal risk or inconvenience to others.
- Perform general tasks as assigned (e.g. furniture revisions, minor painting works, changing of light bulbs, etc.)
- Managing and ensuring efficient use of storage and pantry spaces.
2. Safety and Security:
- Keeping the school premises and surrounding areas clear of trash, litter, debris and drainage chokes.
- Ensuring a clean and safe environment around the school premises including school premises.
- Assist to plan and monitor the biochemical waste and garbage disposal schedule. Ensure that the disposal is done properly by contractors.
- Overseeing contractors in improvement and repair works.
- Assist in premise safety (e.g. Fire extinguisher safety check, escorting contractors, tree pruning, and pest control).
- Working with the Principals, to plan, coordinate and execute Annual Fire Safety drills.
3. Sourcing and procurement:
- To be the central coordinating person for the sourcing and procurement of the school, in accordance to the policies of the company.
- To establish and maintain term contracts for essential infrastructure and AVLs for periodic purchases, in accordance to guidelines of the company.
4. General Duties
- To serve as the contact person between the school management, the managing agent and the landlord.
- Assist in coordinating the deployment of cieaners' tasks assignment.
- Facilitate in the preparation of school events and activities.
REQUIREMENTS
- 3 years of experience in a similar or related environment
- Nitec in Built Environment or Higher Nitec in Facility Management or higher.
- Prior experience in facilities management especially in a school environment is highly advantageous;
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment;
- Receptive to feedback and able to accept changes positively;
- Computer literacy in Microsoft Office and other related applications.
- Fluency in spoken and written English and other language will be advantageous
