Job Description
- Meeting with clients and other involved professionals at an early stage to agree on the project brief;
- Developing project briefs and working on these as the project progresses;
- Preparing design proposals using computer-aided design (CAD) and traditional drawing methods;
- Contributing to planning applications and other regulatory application procedures;
- Understanding how the design aspects of a construction project influence and relate to performance and functional issues, so that practical questions can be addressed at an early stage;
- Following up with the detailed design process and co-ordinating design information;
- Liaising with appropriate authorities (e.g. Planning enquiries and technical officers) to obtain statutory approval;
- Co-ordinating and liaising with the various consultants on the project team;
- Advising clients on procuring the best and most appropriate contracts for the work they are undertaking;
- Leading the preparation of tender documentation and construction drawings;
- Assisting in administering contracts and project certifications;
- Obtaining feedback on work in progress and finished results from clients;
- Making site visits to check on progress and ensuring that the project is running within the agreed timescale;
- Solving problems that might occur during building/construction stage;
- Carrying out defect inspections;
- Managing the work of junior staff/direct reports.
Job Requirements
- Minimum 6 years experience in the architectural industry in Singapore or Malaysia
- Able to work within a team and in a fast-paced environment
Familiar with building regulations (Singapore or Malaysia) - Strong Portfolio
- Good working attitude, proactive and conscientious.
