RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Marketing and Corporate Communications
    • Develop CGRS’s print collaterals for marketing of SMU’s Postgraduate Research (PGR) programmes and provide advisement to schools, coordinating a standardised look-and-feel of the programme-specific brochures.
    • Curate and create content to promote PGR programmes, research and events across appropriate digital marketing channels, including Search Engine Marketing campaigns, display advertisements and developing research videos, blog posts, opinion editorials, e-flyers and e-newsletters.
    • Identify appropriate international online platforms to market PGR programmes for expanded reach.
    • Work in partnership with SMU’s Corporate Communications and Marketing team to provide guidance on university-level branding policies to key internal stakeholders managing PGR programmes.
    • Maintain oversight of CGRS website content and Search Engine Optimisation, and related social media channels.
  • Recruitment and Partnership Liaison
    • Formulate, plan and implement a university-level recruitment strategy for PGR programmes to promote the alignment of PGR student recruitment in accordance with national-level directives.
    • Identify high priority markets and coordinate with Schools on the overseas outreach and recruitment events to establish SMU’s presence in these countries.
    • Strive to increase the quality of recruitment leads through centrally coordinated outreach events like the annual CGRS Open House, HeadHunt Postgraduate Fair, Information Sessions (in selected priority markets), etc.
    • Establish partnerships with academic institutions to promote dual-degree PhD or collaborative degree programmes.
    • Develop sell sheets and explore new scholarship funding opportunities with external entities.
    • Custodian of international collaborations for SMU’s PGR programmes, ensuring a streamlined onboarding process.
  • Reporting and Other Administrative Duties
    • Compile, analyse and report SMU’s annual recruitment data for PGR programmes, in accordance with national-level directives.
    • Measure the effectiveness of various print collaterals and digital marketing campaigns.
    • Support CGRS Dean to deliver corporate presentations for the college’s events.
    • Serve as CGRS’s Data Protection Officer Representative.
    • Maintain CGRS’s mailing lists for recruitment leads and graduate placements.
    • Oversee and mentor staff who are supporting the recruitment, marketing and corporate communications portfolio.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Corporate Communications, Business Administration or related fields.
  • Minimum 5 years (8 years preferred) of relevant working experience.
  • Excellent communications (both written and spoken) and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong writing skills, with the experience in developing content for various marketing communications’ collaterals is necessary.
  • Adaptable, detail-oriented, resourceful, able to work independently and cross-functionally within the organisation to meet tight deadlines.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with changing requirements and shifting priorities.
  • Experience in managing digital and social media marketing campaigns, events management, websites, content and marketing collateral development.
  • Experience in building relationships and establishing successful partnerships.
  • Ability to analyse the effectiveness of the different marketing platforms.
  • Strong in stakeholder management of varying types and levels.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, Google Analytics, social media management, project management, etc.
