TIPL has successfully designed and constructed four large scale horizontal cable conduits in Taiwan used for export cable landing to shore. The successful candidate will have the unique opportunity to design, innovate, collaborate, and be involved in the construction of future horizontal drilling works.
Duty and Responsibilities
- Feasibility analyses and design of HDD projects
- Provide precontract support in pricing works, including working methods, and engineering solutions.
- Driving the incorporation and promotion of best practice in HDD drilling throughout all HDD works.
- Proactively manage HDD rig crew operatives, project allocation, training and mentoring needs and including identifying transport and accommodation needs.
- Liaison with operational drilling team, external consultants, and marine teams, spreading and collating best practice and considering the latest developments in technologies.
- Supply chain engagement & management and audit.
- Engineering and selection of HDD drilling equipment, BHA tooling, drill rods and other drilling equipment ensuring equipment and tools are fit for project purpose.
- overseeing and managing all aspects of the Horizontal Directional Drilling projects, ensuring efficient execution, safety compliance, and successful project outcomes.
- Lead the comprehensive planning, coordination, and successful execution of HDD projects, collaborating with stakeholders to establish objectives, timelines, and budgets, while ensuring optimal project progress and resource allocation.
- Oversee and train up a proficient team of HDD engineer and support staff.
- Oversee the utilization and maintenance of HDD equipment and other trucks, ensuring operational efficiency and proper inventory management.
- Ensure preventive maintenance and repairs of all HDD machines and all trucks, enhancing overall equipment reliability.
Prerequisites/Qualifications:
- A Bachelor of Science in Engineering with a preference for Drilling Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, geotechnical engineering, Mineral Processing Engineering, or Civil Engineering
- Minimum of 10 years of HDD engineering or project execution experience.
- Hands on experience in drilling design, steering or mud engineering is preferred.
- Working knowledge of pipeline installation methods and analyses and Geotech.
- The position will require excellent communication, interpersonal, leadership and supervisory skills and possess ability to work with field personnel, Project Manager, and clients.
- Possess sound judgment; organizational, interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills; excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong personnel character and integrity.
- Must be willing to travel, work onsite at remote locations.
- MS Word, Excel, and Project (advanced)
- Experience with other trenchless construction is a plus.
