The successful incumbent is responsible for the overall management of YRI bakery and oversees the marketing & sales, customer engagement, and operations to drive revenue generation and business development.

Key roles & responsibilities include but are not limited to:


• Plan and execute new businesses to ensure that the business remains viable and financially strong.

• Provide guidance to strengthen marketing and sales plans and implement Go-to-Market (GTM) strategies in meeting revenue and profitability for the unit.

• Oversee production planning to achieve deliverables and targets for the Bakery.

• Implement plans to deal with contingency and other operational challenges to ensure business continuity.

• Review and improve efficiencies to increase productivity, reduce wastages, and manage operating costs.

• Ensure robustness and strict compliance with Food Safety and Workplace place safety regulations and standards.

• Oversee quality management, controls, and improvements to the Bakery’s production.

• Oversee and review preventive maintenance regime to manage optimum conditions and shelf-life of bakery equipment.

• Oversee regular customer feedback and surveys and develop improvement plans to address key gaps in services and products.

• Plan the annual budget, review Bakery’s financial performances, and adjust the operational budget to promote profitability.

• Plan and implement inmate skills training aimed at inculcating positive work ethics and providing them with market-relevant skills for eventual employment upon release.

• Develop staff competencies in meeting the company’s objective and future plans.


A suitably qualified candidate possesses:

  • A degree preferably in Business Management or Marketing;
  • At least 5 years’ experience in a Management position within the Food industry;
  • Demonstrated good business and financial acumen including planning and cost control capabilities;
  • Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally within the group to drive business growth;
  • Strong leadership skills in developing teams;
  • Strong organizational, communication, and critical thinking skills;
  • Good IT knowledge and proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications and
  • Is passionate about providing incarcerated inmates with vocational and employability skills, as well as inculcating positive work ethics in them through employment opportunities
