Purpose
The Head of Operations has regional operational responsibility for the management of Roll Group’s land project operations and leads a local team of department managers. S/he plans, directs, coordinates, and oversees the engineering, operations, project management and maintenance activities in the organization ensuring cost-effective project solutions and execution for our customers. This also includes addressing the organization’s approach to environmental responsibility with the goal to minimize the company’s environmental impact. S/he is part of the Global Extended Leadership Team and serves as a statutory Director in his/her region. As part of this responsibility, besides representing his/her functional department, s/he represents the Group in other functional areas and supports the agreed common vision.
Key responsibilities and key result area’s
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Collaborates with Global leadership to develop and meet company goals while supplying local expertise and guidance on operations projects and systems applicable to his/her region
- Oversees a regional Roll Group operations team, ensuring each department is reaching goals set by departmental and company leadership.
- Regionally implement and communicate the strategic direction of the organization’s Project Management and Operations functions
- Ensure excellent, timely, cost-effective project solutions and execution for our customers
- Continuously ensuring the Operations department further develops and becomes industry leader in execution of operations in quality, safety, efficiency, and all other applicable aspects of project/operations execution
- Maintain the connection between the office/field organization to ensure that all activities are being conducted safely and in an efficient way
- Identify, recommend, and implement new processes, technologies, and systems to improve and streamline organizational processes and use of resources and materials
- Ensures that departmental decisions and project plans such as those for staffing, development, organization, material efficiency are in line with the organization’s business plan and vision
- Reporting and daily communication to all stakeholders on daily, weekly and monthly activities Accident / Incident reporting and investigation
- Root Cause Analysis and development of continuous improvement measures
- Ensuring timely execution of all operations in line with contract and customer requirements
- Attend Customer Meetings, and act as point of project escalation as required
- Close Attention to detail, and manage operational planning and clashes
- Conduct weekly team meetings
- Management of scope and upsell operations and pursue project variations where possible
- Ensure all equipment is in serviceable condition and plan maintenance according to work schedules and company policy
- Assists in the establishment, communication, and implementation of operations-related policies, practices, standards, and security measures to ensure effective and consistent support and execution
- Together with QHSSE and management, develops strategies to address various environmental concerns including energy use, conservation, reduction of pollution, recycling, building and facility design, and general education on sustainability
- Lead and further develop the department, both in terms of strategy and human capital (right person right seat)
- Identify short and long-term company goals and translate these to department goals
- Responsible for coaching and development of team members and regular check ins to ensure employees are doing well and department/company goals are achieved
- Through your department team ensure complete, accurate, and timely execution and delivery
- Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned by manager or supervisor
