The Opportunity:

An opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and resourceful Startup Manager to lead the startup ecosystem engagement for our new event launch within the healthcare team in Asia.


A brand new event launch

Currently the healthcare team runs a flagship brand, Hospital Management Asia (HMA). HMA helps hospital owners, C-level executives, directors, clinicians and healthcare leaders improve outcomes and becoming increasingly efficient through the delivery of online content, digital activations, bespoke webinars and an annual flagship event that attracts over 1,500 attendees. With a track record of more than 22 years, HMA has grown into a 28,000 strong community across Asia Pacific.


In 2025, a new brand will be launched to connect innovators and technology firms with Asia’s healthcare providers.


The healthcare division is one of the portfolios within Clarion Events Asia - a multinational events company, that is owned by private equity organization, Blackstone. The Candidate:

Reporting to ­­­the Project Director, the successful candidate will be responsible to deliver all aspects of startup ecosystem engagement, innovation challenges and partnership collaboration of the event lifecycle. The ideal candidate is people oriented, a self-starter, highly creative and commercially savvy and possess a strong knowledge on the startup ecosystem in Asia.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Prospect for new startup clients and partners and secure business opportunities for the event
  • Responsible for all startup-driven content relating to the event
  • Conduct in-depth regional industry research and development through desktop research, face to face meetings and/or over a call to identify industry trends that are shaping the healthcare and healthtech startup ecosystem
  • Build strong relationships with key stakeholders and nurturing them to be advocates of the brand.
  • Identify and confirm influential and unique healthcare/healthtech startup speakers who will be crucial for the success of the conference.
  • Conducting in-depth telephone, face to face and desktop research potential healthtech startups and accelerators in the target market to develop commercially viable content
  • Continued engagement to ensure successful onsite delivery


Knowledge and Experience:

  • Degree holder
  • Written and verbal fluency
  • A proven track record in sales performance, achieving targets and timeline in projects
  • Possess knowledge on the startup ecosystem and dynamics here in Asia.
  • Experience and knowledge in the healthcare sector will be a huge plus.
  • Proposal creation to existing and prospective customers
  • Visits to relevant local and international trade events

  • Self-disciplined and able to work both independently and as prt of a team adhering to time-sensitive deadlines
  • Passionate, dedicated, and knowledgeable about developing smart, profitable, and industry-leading events
  • Resilient, with a strong desire to succeed and the ability to thrive under pressure
  • Curious, enthusiastic and a willingness to learn new skills
