Singapore Fashion Council (SFC) is a non-commercial trade Organisation that serves as the catalyst driving the industry’s continuous growth, with a focus on three key areas: Asian Craftsmanship, Sustainability, and Innovation & Technology.
With a mission to empower and inspire all brands across the fashion ecosystem, SFC works closely with diverse partners to offer readily- accessible resources, meaningful networks, sustainability-focused innovations and future-forward insights - unlocking new opportunities for impact.
SFC has many strategic initiatives and programmes that include The Bridge Fashion Innovator
(TBFI), Programs and training that promote Sustainability, Capability Development, Flagship Events such as Be The Change Summit and Singapore Stories.
SFC also manages Design Orchard Retail Showcase (DORS) and The Cocoon Space (TCS):
DORS, the retail showcase located at level one of Design Orchard and situated in the centre of Orchard Road, provides a physical retail space for new and emerging designers, at the renowned shopping belt of Singapore. It has the largest collection of locally based designer brands in Singapore.

The Opportunity:
The Fashion Sustainability Programme was launched on 30 November 2021. As part of this programme, SFC implements initiatives to lead the industry and drive whole-of-society changes to help enterprises, consumers and communities in our sector to increase adoption of sustainable business practices, capacity building, pioneering circular economy in fashion sustainability and developing programmes to grow the talent pool in sustainability in Singapore and in the region.
We are looking for a leader who is passionate about sustainability and would like to make a difference. You are likely to be a pioneer in charting new initiatives. You will lead a team and collaborate with partners to conceptualise, plan and execute the plans and impactful programs. You are a strategic thinker and adept amidst ambiguity. You are meticulous in your programme implementation. You thrive despite competing demands. And you have an ability to manage and engage all levels of partners and internal stakeholders.
The Role:

- Manage SFC's sustainability strategy, budget, and goals.
- Lead the fashion sustainability program and innovative projects.
- Attract external partners for sustainability initiatives.
- Supervise a team implementing industry-wide initiatives.
- Expand a network for capacity-building initiatives.
- Develop sustainability best practice case studies.
- Engage stakeholders to gain support for initiatives.
- Foster relationships with industry partners.
- Offer problem-solving skills and mentor junior staff.
Required Skills and Competencies:
- Minimum 10 years of work experience, including 3 years in senior management and program management with cross-functional project expertise.
- Strong project management and interpersonal skills.
- Passionate about sustainability in the fashion industry, including knowledge of its landscape, partners, subject areas, and related organizations.
- Ability to serve as a representative voice on sustainability topics for the association.
- Experience in fashion, textiles, sustainability, or consulting is a bonus.
- Accreditation or degree in environmental management or a related field is a bonus.
- Proficient in leading and coordinating multiple projects concurrently.
- Skilled in leading teams, resource and labour management, and budget oversight.
- Strategic thinking, data-driven insights, and translating insights into actionable plans.
- Proactive, detail-oriented, and takes ownership of projects.
- Demonstrated ability in stakeholder management through influence and engagement.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Positive attitude and readiness to embrace challenges in a startup environment.
