Job Summary (12 months contract)
This position will provide corporate paralegal services, legal, organizational, regulatory and compliance related support to the APAC Legal & Compliance Department in the areas of corporate governance, compliance, outsourcing, licensing and legal and regulatory support.
Supports Hub General Counsel and other Lawyers in developing and maintaining Governance registrations, Sharepoint sites (i.e., Control Calendar, Outsourcing monitoring, licensing, etc.), GALEXY for APAC, assisting with Divisional and Group requests and projects as needed, and generally helping with APAC Hub Legal & Compliance support and documentation.
Key duties and responsibilities
- Provide all requested legal research and paralegal support for attorneys in APAC Law Department and relating to APAC Hub legal entities and initiatives.
- Responsible for assisting with Corporate Governance duties, including: Taking and drafting of Board/AGM/Executive Management Committee minutes; Preparing and filing required notifications relating to change of directors and other relevant information (inculding coordinating with Group Legal & Compliance where appropriate).,
- Primary responsibility for maintaining and monitoring administrative and tracking systems (e.g., Sharepoint, Control Calendar, Outsourcing monitoring, Galexy, etc.) for APAC.
- Assist on Compliance-related projects and initiatives, including Sanctions, Anti-Money Laundering and others.
- Maintain effective working relationships within and outside Finance and Accounting to facilitate the timely filing of regulatory compliance filings.
- Track, process and monitor licensing of APAC Hub companies.
- Provide support for corporate legal issues, legal entity management and filings and other similar matters as requested.
- Interact with senior management, corporate home office and other divisions and legal entities, as well as outside counsel and vendors as needed.
- Provide support with respect to annual Hub-wide regulatory Outsourcing and Fit & Proper compliance requirements (and other similar exercises).
- Assist with legal research and analysis.
- Monitor and report on regulatory developments and changes.
- Provide organizational and substantive support to regulatory exams and other audits (both internal and external in nature).
- Responsible for day-to-day administrative support for the Law Department including budget and projects.
- Address formation and dissolution of companies as needed and update company organizational charts accordingly.
- May perform other duties as required.
Experience:
- Minimum 6+ years of paralegal experience in a law firm or corporation
- Exceptional interpersonal, verbal & written communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently & as a positive contributor and leader to team efforts, including follow-up / follow-through, organization & prioritization.
- Demonstrated ability to manage assignments and projects to meet established goals.
- Ability to effectively use internal resources & outside parties to achieve goals.

- Indepth knowledge of MS Office, particularly Excel, and other software applications including SharePoint.

Duration:
- 12 months contract with a potential to be converted or extendable
