We are looking for a candidate with a Diploma or Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field, and a minimum of 2 years of practical experience supporting enterprise desktop environments. The ideal candidate should possess strong technical proficiency in VMware VSphere and VMware Horizon VDI. The role involves delivering on-site support for end-user operations, managing intricate technical issues in a dynamic business setting, and overseeing VMware VSphere and VMware Horizon VDI environments and applications. Daily responsibilities include tasks such as maintenance, upgrades, patches, hot fixes, security configurations, and continuous monitoring of VMware environments. The candidate should also be adept at assessing risks, executing contingency plans, troubleshooting issues, and staying up-to-date on virtual machine technologies. The position requires providing 24x7 on-call support on a rotational basis, implementing corrective measures to resolve production problems, and developing and maintaining comprehensive technical documentation for efficient planning and execution. Coordination with external parties and customers, as well as taking a leadership role in post-delivery teams for various client applications, is anticipated.
Skills and Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will be technically oriented with a hands-on approach and a keen interest in exploring emerging technologies. Essential attributes include analytical skills, attention to detail, and a solid grasp of the ITIL Framework. Strong customer focus, professional acumen, and excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal) are pivotal. The ability to handle multiple assignments and priorities in a high-paced environment, coupled with negotiation, conflict resolution, and risk management skills, is crucial. Proficiency in vendor relation management, quality escalation management, handling exceptions effectively, managing costs/overheads, and ensuring successful contract renewals are vital for meeting all SLAs. The candidate should also demonstrate teamwork, dedication, reliability, adaptability, initiative, good judgment, and the capability to work independently. Additional advantageous skills encompass experience in supporting enterprise virtualized environments, proficiency in OS skills covering Windows and Linux, and expertise in backup and recovery applications.
