Workplace Safety and Health Manager

Job Description:


  • Close communication with PD/PM to reflect PD/PM/s intention for the project and establish Safety management policies/tactics in line with PD/PM’s intention.
  • Responsible for dealing with authorities, client and consultants’ management.
  • Facilitate a work environment that supports a safe and healthy culture.
  • Conduct/coordinate workers’ training in the area such as safety rules and regulations, hazardous condition monitoring, and use of safety equipment.
  • Perform safety audits and inspect facilities, machinery, and safety equipment to identify potential hazards, and to ensure safety rules and regulations are in compliance.
  • Investigate industrial accidents, near-miss incidents, and occupational injuries to determine causes, install preventive measures, and manage return-to-work activities.
  • Coordinate employee safety programs to determine their adequacy including review of short- and long-term strategic safety planning and development.
  • Work within company policy in compliment with Human Resources Policy Manual and the Environmental Health and Safety rules.
  • Provide technical advice, coaching, guidance, and mentoring to employees on safety initiatives and necessary changes.
  • Identify best practices and lead continuous improvement initiatives to reduce work process risks, raise safety awareness, and improve safe work practices.


Requirements:


  • Registered WSHO and ECO with MOM and NEA respectively with at least 10 years of post-registration and practical experience relevant field
  • Experience in managing bored tunnel construction projects with contract.
  • Degree in Engineering or Environmental, Health and Safety.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Strong safety innovation and creative skills and mind.
  • Ability to influence various stakeholders and build long term relationships.
  • Ability to lead WSHOs and provide supervision, suggestions and/or instructions to all Safety staff.
  • Good knowledge of government regulations relating to Occupational Safety, Health, and Environmental areas.
  • Familiar with OSH/ISO documentation.
  • Excellent English communication and written skill (To liaise with Government Authorities, clients, and associates).
  • Must be able to work under pressure.
