The Group is backed by a multinational workforce of more than 100,000 people. The internship will start in Jan 2024 for a period of 3 to 6 months.
Job Responsibilities:
- Serve as a key contributor to the technical strategy and objectives for Wilmar’s specialty fat businesses
- Conduct primary and secondary research work pertaining to edible fats and oils processing and functionality applications
- Assist with R&D projects from conception to completion, with emphasis on technical soundness and resource efficiency
- Provide efficient execution of trials and analysis in innovation centre according to agreed priorities
- Operate and maintain pilot scale equipment and analytical instruments
- Ensure data and information from trials are accurate and documented
- Other duties as assigned
The Research Intern will have Skills/Personal Attributes of:
- Enrolled in BSc / BEng in Chemical Engineering or equivalent (preferably Year 3 or 4)
- Strong background in chemical engineering / chemistry with an interest in food science
- Adept in principles of chemistry, physics, and engineering to design equipment and processes for edible fats and oils
- Expert knowledge and skills to complete technical and scientific research
- Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills
- Strong organizational skills with ability to multi-task, plan and prioritize
