Job Description:
- Responsible for troubleshooting and carrying out diagnostic works on issues highlighted by customers, ensuring and cultivating a "fix it right the first time" for all assigned vehicles
- Assist Manager in coordinating/assigning & ensuring all jobs are being carried out accordingly and in a timely manner.
- Supervise and ensure workshop productivity in addition to excellent cost management skills
- Identify areas of improvement and establish innovatively or enhance existing work procedures and practices
- Evaluate all maintenance work to ensure that work is performed within established time frames
- Assess the impact of delays, interruptions, or changes in plans and implement appropriate courses of action to minimise issues.
- Communicate job expectations between Customer Service Advisors (CSA) and mechanics
- Coach fellow mechanics and technicians and CSAs by providing advice and technical assistance to produce quality work
- Inspect and diagnose maintenance and repair-related problems
- Troubleshoot maintenance problems and recommend corrective actions
- Responsible to ensure the utilisation of all assets for the repairs and maintenance of motor vehicles
- Planning and execution of jobs and ensuring that jobs are carried out safely and efficiently and to achieve maximum production and workshop targets.
- Supervise and perform skilled operations in the repair and overhaul of motor vehicles
- Repair, maintain, and service vehicles & their mechanical & electronic components
- Ensure vehicles are serviced, maintained, and repaired to a high standard, and supervise and assist the mechanics
- Check the activities in the workshop, inspect completed work for compliance with safety and other statutory regulations, and make sure defects are repaired
- To document and record meticulously all diagnostic jobs assigned
- Discuss and coordinate activities with other departments
Job Requirements:
- Minimum Higher Nitec in Automotive Technology or its equivalent
- Minimum 4 years of relevant working experience
- Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and electronic components of vehicles
- Working knowledge of vehicle diagnostic systems and methods
- Ability to handle various tools and equipment
- Highly motivated and results-driven
- Customer service mindset with a positive attitude
