Job Description
The Assistant Customer Support Engineer (ACSE) will be responsible for executing the functions of MCR (Master Control Room) which is a 24/7 service. This includes :
- Monitoring all permanent & occasional services in MCR, follow the SOP to restore the service in case of any issues. Report and escalate the incident to the next level if needed.
- Handle the customer enquiries and booking request.
- Arrange the resources and co-ordinate with other Regions and third parties for the ad hoc transmission & turnaround services.
- Input the booking request into the booking system, ScheduAll.
- Operate the measuring and monitoring tools to ensure all services are meeting the specifications.
- Monitor and carry first line operations for the facility equipment, such as but not limited to Antenna Control, Up/downlink RF platform, compression & transmission platform. Report to the supporting engineer and corresponding vendors if any anomaly were detected.
- Monitor the facility infrastructure, such as but not limited to Power Supply System & Air Conditioning System and report to the corresponding vendors if any anomaly were detected.
- Roles & duties are subject to change according to the changing of business needs.
- Need to work on 12 hours rotating shift.
The ideal candidate would have:
- a good understanding of satellite and fiber transmission.
- a good understanding of IP protocol and networking.
- an understanding of video & audio quality measurement and compression systems will be an added advantage.
- experience in the technical and operation areas of a similar broadcast environment but no experience also be considered.
- strong attention to details.
- effective communication and time management skills.
This person must be a team player, customer focused dedicated, energetic and has strong multi-tasking skill. The position is based in Singapore.
