You can make your mark being responsible for the efficient and effective management of all Salvage equipment, tools and machinery. You are a qualified and experienced equipment manager with a technical background. You will oversee our Salvage warehouse maintenance and repair operations as well as supporting in the mobilisation process to support Salvage Emergency Response and wreck removal projects. . You have a strong background in equipment and warehouse management, excellent organizational skills, and a solid understanding of machinery, tools and equipment maintenance. Next to that you will also be responsible for the Salvage Yard Safety Management and supplier management.
Your responsibilities as equipment manager
- Manage and supervise all activities within the warehouse related to maintenance, repair and preparedness of the Salvage equipment, tools and machinery.
- Ensure proper receipt, storage, and issuance of machinery tools and equipment and relevant spare parts.
- Develop and implement inventory control procedures to optimize inventory levels.
- Conduct regular inspections of machinery tools and equipment.
- Develop and implement maintenance schedules to minimize downtime.
- Utilize inventory management software and tools for tracking and management.
- Analyse inventory data, identify trends, and generate reports.
- Coordinate with suppliers for timely delivery and issue resolution.
- Monitor and control costs by analysing expenditure and finding cost-saving opportunities.
- Provide training and guidance to warehouse staff on salvage yard safety practices.
- Manage the internal hiring process for equipment within the organization.
- Coordinate equipment requests and ensure proper allocation.
Your qualities and experience
You can move ahead as a equipment manager if you have:
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in equipment management, with a focus on machinery tools and dive equipment.
- A technical background
- Strong knowledge of warehouse processes and procedures, inventory management software and tools.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work well under pressure and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to work overtime/extra hours in support of Emergency Response operations.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures for machinery, tools and equipment.
- Knowledge of diving will be an added advantage.
