Canadian International School Singapore (CIS) are actively seeking an experienced English as a Second Language (ESL) teacher to become a valued member of our Primary Foundation Programme team. Our department's objective is to equip students for seamless integration into the Primary International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (PYP) through the implementation of CLIL-based teaching methods, including subjects such as English, Mathematics, and transdisciplinary studies. Ideal candidates should possess a minimum of a Level 7 English language qualification (MA in TESOL, DELTA, etc.), a Bachelor's degree in a connected field, and have at least 5 years of ESL experience. Additionally, we highly value prior experience as a homeroom teacher within an international school environment.
Job Title: Foundation Programme Teacher (ELL)

Key Accountabilities
- Provide high-quality English language education and facilitate smooth educational transitions while aligning with the school's mission and values.
Knowledge and Skills Required:
- Understand second language acquisition theories and their application.
- Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrate cultural awareness and effective communication with diverse students and parents.
- Proficiency in using information technology and student achievement data.
- Familiarity with Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL).
Curriculum and Instructional Responsibilities:
- Utilize data for differentiated instruction.
- Review CIS Curriculum documents.
- Collaboratively develop and implement unit and long-range plans.
- Conduct formative and summative assessments in consultation with team members.
- Maintain organized lesson plans.
- Create an inspiring learning environment aligned with relevant IB programmes.
- Manage classroom procedures and student behavior effectively.
Professional Responsibilities:
- Ensure student safety and well-being.

- Participate in Child Protection training.
- Engage in the Individual Work Plan (IWP) process.

Required Qualifications:
- Level 7 ELT qualification (e.g., MA in Applied Linguistics, DELTA, etc.).

Experience:

- Knowledge of WIDA assessment tool.
- Preferred: Training and experience in International Baccalaureate PYP.
