Responsibilities
- Responsible to examine and evaluate module parts against airworthiness standards and defined requirements
- Carry out inspections of aircraft engine parts, accessories, modules using appropriate tools, equipment, materials and methods
- Identify and apply inspection engineering techniques, methods, standards, data analysis, lifecycle principles and equipment risk-based monitoring techniques to support inspection
- Interpret inspection engineering techniques, methods, standards, data analysis, life-cycle principles and equipment risk-based monitoring techniques so as to conduct inspection engineering
- Perform visual and dimensional inspections and identify defects and types of repair required
- Perform in-process inspections to ensure good physical condition and accurate dimensions
- Report discrepancies found in performing inspections to appropriate persons
- Document all inspection procedures and findings
- Identify appropriate resources and conduct final inspections on engine components and parts for completion of work done in accordance with technical manuals and organisational procedures
- Conduct final inspections on engine components and parts to ensure repairs done in accordance with requirements
- Verify compatibility of components and modification status
Requirements
- Relevant Engineering or Aerospace Certificate
- 2 to 5 years’ experience in aero engine component visual and dimensional inspection
- Work experience in identifying and interpreting potential defects that impact quality or safety against set standards
- Proficiency in the use of measuring instruments, e.g. vernier callipers, micrometre, gauges
